All realignment discussions have stopped
There was another meeting at Davos that went unnoticed by the sports entertainment media. A group of P5/G5 conference commissioners and select university presidents got together to discuss realignment. They decided that they want the status quo as of now due to the fact that any further movement can (will) destabilize the entire college athletics product - and the markets for this type of entertainment.

Take a look to your left and then to your right. The schools that you are rubbing elbows with will be your running buddies from now on until the next 100 years or so - give or take. If you like your conference, you get to keep your conference...unless your school chooses to quit the conference. However, even quitting may not be in the cards - contracts and all that...

I'm thinking there is a reason this "meeting" went unnoticed.

I'm thinking someone hacked miko's account. This fell flat by his standards. Disappointed. 01-lucy

Now let's be honest.

If a meeting of this magnitude was held and a decision of this level was reached, it would have been headline news on EVERY major sports site PLUS Twitter would have blown up.

I call BS.

Isn't it funny how a lot of G5 fans would love to be in the AAC, but seemingly all AAC fans want is to be out of the conference? 07-coffee3

Bucky, Miko is one of our eccentrics here...you just let him do his thing. The resultant comedy is a diversion and it is okay to feed Miko. 04-cheers

That's quite interrelated Miko 33. Davos hasn't even determined whether Bitcoin is real yet. The networks can't pay for added expansion until Bitcoin is legitimized. The equity markets are overheated, the dollar is being kept low as the WRC so that the US debt can still prop up trade in Europe so all available cash has to be kept in Wall Street and the ECM. Since Disney now holds a stake in China it is necessary that they not be seen propping up either the FED or the ECM. So if they want to pay for more movement in College Football Bitcoin is the only secretive way to make this play. Otherwise the World Economy could be plunged into chaos should a more overt Disney move be interpreted incorrectly by Beijing.

So of course there is no talk of it at Davos! Sheesh! I thought you of all posters would know this. If Bitcoin gains more traction look for an announcement coming out of Austin and Norman to follow.

RE: All realignment discussions have stopped
Wouldn't Tulsa be the Davos for college realignment?

I have a source that says, after canvassing all the Comfort Inns, Days Inns, Ramadas, La Quinta Inns, and Best Westerns, in the greater Tulsa Oklahoma area for the past 4 months, there has been zero suspicious activity of clandestine collegiate officials, planning future conference realignment.

So ... I think the original post is probably accurate. There will be no additional conference shuffling in the foreseeable future. Specifically, I think it is safe to say that the conferences you see today, you will still see in the next year, and the year after that.

Unless ... of course ... Tulsa ISN'T the Davos of collegiate conference realignment. And Wichita really is. Or Spokane. Or Scranton PA.
