Yep. I think the BE would be foolish to expand. 10 is a good number. The Big 12-2 actually has the best number among the P5's. The BE can play a nice round-robin 18-game conference schedule. Adding 2 more schools also means 2 more cuts to their NCAAT kitty money they earn each year. MBB is the money-maker at these schools (just like in the A10+4) and dividing the conference money 12 ways instead of 10 is a big deal. Divisions don't make any sense in basketball. Hopefully, one day college football will realize they are kinda goofy too.

I agree with this. If basketball is your main revenue sport, why divide up the pie further? I don’t see the BE expanding. It has the schools it wants and the historical rivalries needed to make it relevant and profitable. The BE already went down the road of adding schools with FBS football so unless UConn drops football, don’t look for them to be back in the BE.

For Dayton and St. Louis the A10 is geographically spread out and has too many teams. If the A10 were to lose CBS TV money, the two previous points become very relevant and St. Louis plus Dayton need to rethink their conference affiliation. Butler leaving for the BE was a big blow to these two schools. CBS not extending its contract would be another. All revenue would have to come from NCAA tournament like the Colonial has now. Conference schools do not share equally in this revenue so if the league becomes a one bid league, that is strike three.
