Actually, I think SMU is full of fine folks who are generally easy to get along with. Although I did have an awkward in counter with an SMU cheerleader once. She said something to me, but I couldn't understand what. So I just mooed back at her in return.

This is the game day news for Cincy. It's almost as if they were begging people not to show up. Weird. 4 inches of snow which had stopped falling 4 hours before the game, mid-20's weather. I can't imagine your typical Philadelphian would be daunted by typical winter weather.

Ticket exchanges should be announced AFTER the game. The Owls' front office should be fired for incompetence. Attendance was 4,274 (20% off their average) despite their best efforts to turn people away. Maybe that extra 1k fans would have made the difference in a 2 point game against a conference front-runner?

I can only remember us doing something “special” for a couple of games over the past five years, and that was free tshirts at the AAC opener against UConn and senior night last year. Plus, promotions are typically used for lesser games to get people there. Why would you use a promotion for a game already sold out, or in high demand?

I think us WSU fans aren't used to having another team in conference that sells out there arena sometimes. Opposing ADs just saw $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ when WSU came to town.

A la Joan of Arc night in Bug'aha. But the BJ's never saw much money from it as they gave those tickets away for free.

That being said, teams will still usually put on a color coordinated event in order to generate some extra buzz for important games - Wichita State being the preeminent important game for the opposition for about as long as I can remember. Seeing Wichita State ranked below a conference mate is humbling... or humiliating... I can't decide on which.

We put ourselves in this mess though (if you count the top 25 as being in a mess). We need a great effort tonight if we're going to make a statement that the UH/SMU games were just an aberration.
