Congrats, guys-- great win for both you and the conference. Rice wasn't as dominant-- and the pitching staff needs to clean up it's free passes and wild pitches, but sure was dramatic, with Sarchet's walk-off, two-run HR to give Rice a come from behind 8-7 win. Most encouraging, Ricky Salinas look as good as ever, pitching a dominant 3 innings (on strict pitch count) in his return from TJS.

Next up: UCF tomorrow (Canterino on mound) and Virginia on Sunday (with a vastly improved Moss on the bump).

Rice's Dom DiCaprio went to high school there, and his brother is a senior there now. Family was at the UCF-hosted Samson - Rice game today.

Well, Sandlin certainly looked the part of a Friday starter today.

Very efficient seven innings. Great control: 93 pitches, 64 strikes. Mixed in the arm angles. Nasty stuff.

As great as Sandlin was, the offense was as impressive. They did exactly what they needed to do against a legit SEC ace and got into their bullpen. No idea why they pulled Pilkington so quickly, though.

USM gets 3 runs in bottom 1 to take a 3-0 lead.
