Now only down 833 for the day.
Down 2000+ since Jan 26.

Market was over-heated. Still plenty of room left before I get nervous.

Yup. If you're not a day trader, this shouldn't send you to the ledge.

It is rocketing back up. Looks like some bigwigs computer went into sell mode, caused a minor crash, and everyone is jumping back in. Its up like 900 points in 15 minutes.

Yup. Once the market went parabolic, it was just a matter of time before this happened.

That said---there are two things at work here. One, the Fed is slowly scaling back its liquidity. Second, if interest rates actually continue to rise, then the market will no longer be THE ONLY option available that offers an acceptable return. Right now, though clearly overvalued--money continued to flow into stocks because bonds offered virtually no return. If bond returns rise enough to be seen as a viable safe alternative, then stocks have a ways to fall before they stabilize.

Frankly, I think stock valuations are so inflated that a dollar placed in bonds today outperforms a dollar placed in stocks today over the next 10 years.

The resident liberals are likely saddened.

I guess the bottom line in all this is that the Dow still does not equal the economy.

Wrong. Nice try. It's what the market is and what it does. Nothing more.

You're wiping out the last positive thing you could have said about the Obama presidency. Congrats!

Nah, trump did that when 2017 job growth was less than 2016. Sorry.

Yup. The other concern is margin. Big moves can trigger margin calls that create more selling.
