That Texas two step (getting it in before every one of your media guys do) may not be as much fun as it use to be. I heard Houston got a fiddle in their band. Now whether or not Milton can play that lead guitar hot may be the question. Looking like Marty McFly/Calvin Klien trying to play Earth Angel at the Enchantment Under the Sea prom right now.

Yeah I agree we need to come out of mommy's house and get our own apartment and a life other than posting mile-long post talking about gibberish. not respecting us some long-time members of the board

04-cheers yea already heard the "Texas 2 step" a couple of times. I'm sure it won't be the last. We smoked SMU at full strength. Moody is always a tough place to play, but if there is ever a time to win down there it seems like Sunday is it.

I had a feeling so just to be safe I loaded the post with other references just to cover it.

I think a split is likely, Houston shoots lights out at "home", think they nip and tuck one. Milton probably won't be a 100% which makes everything much harder on SMU.

Do not lump Bearcats #1 in with payday and cold blooded... Bearcats #1 is all about the fun of it all...

Fair enough. Substitute quo in that position instead

Oh, I realize how lucky I am. When Memphis is good, the Forum is packed and the crowd is rocking, she is as much into it as I am. When she was little, her parents divorced and her dad moved out of town. But, when he'd come in to visit, he always took her to games at the Coliseum. So she says going reminds her of that (he died when she was 18). But as it stands now, I cant justify the waste of time it is (45 min drive each way) and the waste of $$ to support this fukkn garbage. Wanted to do this before both of Pastner's last 2 seasons and Tubby's 1st and she talked me out of it. Not any more.

Hey man, that's a cool story about your wife's connection to Memphis basketball. Growing up we went to Virginia Tech games when the Metro was a really good basketball conference. Was at the game when Tech beat MSU with Keith Lee when Memphis was ranked number 1. Loudest I think I've ever heard the Cassell.

Since then, I've always liked those "old" Metro teams(except when they play UC) because of seeing them play as a kid. I hated UC great Pat Cummings (RIP) when I was younger because he was so damn good! I even find myself pulling for Louisville on occasion, like extreme cases when they play Duke, UNC or ND.

Where I was going with this ramble was, it's amazing how fun experiences from your childhood stick with you through life. Maybe you guys should renovate the Mid-South and play there. That place was a hellhole for visitors, great home court for UM.

UCONN struggling against USF at home just about sums up the current state of the program.

UConn won.

Memphis lost to ECU and trail UConn in most metrics like KP. The Tigers are kittens. The Huskies are wolves by comparison.

And yet overall, UConn is the better team. .

However, I suppose the downfall is more pronounced for UConn given your stellar achievements.

Agree 100% about the old metro and the members of that conference. Charlie Moyer always had VT ready to play; Del Curry, Bobby Beecher, Keith Colbert, Wally Lancaster, Bimbo Coles, etc. They were always tough at Blacksburg. They belonged in the ACC long before they were invited.

The MSC will always be "home" for us old(er) guys. Really tough place for visitors when the team was running and crowd was really into the game.

Gale Catlett always had UC ready to beat any one also. Not sure why Tony Yates didn't work out like everyone hoped. Of course Huggins was one of a kind and in the end, he was loved by all metro/GMWC fans. He made as many friends in the arenas he visited as his home arena.

Wally Lancaster, there is a name from the past. Dude put bullet holes in Uc on many occasions.
