You do realize this is Cincy's 4th best team in the last 20 years, right?

Best team in 14 years, 4th in the last 20.
if you want to get technical, then like sixteen years or something

I believe there's no question that Wichita State at its best effort beats Cincy at theirs. Few would argue that point. The proof is simply in the NCAA tournament pudding. But if Cincy puts out a more consistent effort in both games and wins, then they were the better team on that night; nothing more, nothing less.
Regardless... we'll get a chance to start settling things in another week.
Settling things is probably not the best word though. I'm still quite miffed over the "Shocker Slump" we've all witnessed this year. We pissed down the drain a golden opportunity to get a #1 seed and make a strong run for the championship.
Sweeping Cincy would be more like a consolation prize but nothing compared to at least getting another Sweet 16. Sweeping Cincy would just be for message board lolz.

Define par. Neither Memphis nor UCONN are playing up to par, whatever par means. IMO, we should just worry about the current season and forget about past season because they are meaningless this year. Make it to the tourney, even as the lowest seeded team, you still have a chance (theoretically) to go all the way.
The Philadelphia Eagles are the NFL champions this year. Yet the start of the 2018/19 season they will be 0 and 0.

Actually, we're the third best team counting only even numbered years since 1989.

Par for Wichita State is outstanding, smothering defense that throws the opposition off their game. Par is also selfless basketball, strong rebounding, and decent shooting. Excellent shooting is better than par.
I can't remember the last time I had to worry if Wichita State was going to bring the defensive intensity in a game. This year is really weird.

Cold, I'm going to be honest with you and maybe even paraphrase your own words from about a week or so ago. When I watched the Temple - Wichita game on TV, I did not see a final four team on the floor. Don't know how you looked when you played your best, but I think you might be over-estimating WS this year. Don't know how things with Cincy will turn out, and I'm not sure many people do. You could win both, you could lose both, or one of the teams could get outright embarrassed in one of those games. WS is one of the two AAC bids that are pretty much sure things. Let's see how all the games play out. Coming up on money time for everybody.
Better late than never!
I am in full agreement; I wouldn't even say we looked top 40 in the game against you. Had we won that game I would have bled all over this board about how horrible we looked. Of course I would have gotten horrific grief for not just admitting the Shockers are wilting under the pressure of this tremendoussuperterrificpow6r leage!!11!!1!11! Like always...
If you want to know how we look when we play our best...

I literally just watched the entire first half of the 2014 Kentucky game again. Let me just say this: it's a good thing I didn't have a bottle of hand lotion nearby...
Probably some of the best Shocker basketball we've ever played in my lifetime. That defense from Fred, Ron, and Tekele... incredible. Fred V. was the ultimate pickpocket!

Was it Freddie V, Ronnie or Tickley who made you urge for the bottle of hand lotion?

So if/when the Shackers lose it will be because they didn't play their "normal" game. I suppose their normal game would be against an Evansville or a Drake.

Can't say exactly. It was a menage a trois par excellence!

About 'best' I meant this year. Did not see any other WSU games, so I don't know how high your stock can rise this season.

Multiple NBA players... UC was the fifth kenpom top 15 team UCLA beat that season. They also had wins over Kansas, USC, Arizona and Stanford. Both teams played well that night. I thought UC was the better team despite how well UCLA played, but a bank three from the corner, a lucky bounce late in the shot clock on a airball.. and a few other breaks kept UCLA in it and they pulled it out. Honestly, it was at one time the most disappointing UC loss for me because that team was National Championship caliber and played pretty well in defeat...and also the most frustrating because they played so well that game but a really talented, hit or miss UCLA team did as well. That one game doesn't change how great that team was all year.
There is nothing about that UC team that puts them anywhere in the ballpark of that SK team you are talking about except your weird, unsubstantiated opinion.
And that was also a typical Bob Huggins team. After the first few years, did he ever go to the Sweet 16 at Cincinnati? [Rhetorical question, though almost legit].
Cincy and Wichita are NCAA locks. Houston is firmly in but could play its way out with a late collapse. Temple controls its own destiny in a sense - they're out for now but have a good chance to play their way in.
UCF seems firmly in the NIT at this point. SMU is in NIT territory too but could play their way out if injuries continue to take a toll. Tulsa can easily play their way into the NIT discussion since 5 of their last 6 games are winnable.
Memphis probably has the easiest final 6 games but since they've lost 5 of their last 6, they're out of the NIT discussion for now.

5/6 out of 12 teams in post season without Memphis and UConn is mighty impressive. Really makes you think this league has a very high ceiling.
Will be interesting if AAC will be able to keep successful coaches from jumping ships, or if it'll just be the same as football.
