Number 3 at DOJ stepping down
More draining of the swamp. Its happening.

https://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/02/09/us...tment.html

Ms. Brand now oversees a wide swath of the Justice Department, including the civil division, the civil rights division and the antitrust division. She helped lead the department’s effort to extend a law that authorizes the National Security Agency’s warrantless surveillance program.

RE: Number 3 at DOJ stepping down
the question now becomes how oversight is implemented as they're beginning to be replaced.....

in the end, it won't mean dick if status quo remains in place.....that's what really matters....

and I don't hear one fk'n iota about that from anyone or agency......

what a fk'n clusterbang of 'too fk'n large'.....

#fkthecurrentconstruct

this shite's out of control w/o real relief in sight.....

So if someone who was hired by Trump steps down after 9 months on the job, is that truly draining the swamp?

Good news is she gets to be cast in the next season of Celebrity Big Brother.

I suspect what we're learning is that the swamp is not only inhabited by slimy creatures (no offense to my fine friends the catfish and bullfrogs) but that it's also toxic. Some people will just not want to be a part of it and that's fine with me. The average liberal will whine about all the "talent" being lost at those agencies. Fark 'em if the talent is also corrupt.

The problem that I am hearing is that people are not coming forward to fill these spots. The different departments are way understaffed as is. Not good for this country overall when people will not work under him.

How does one determine that the different departments are way understaffed? Who makes that determination? Is is not possible, and I know this will come as a shcok to some, but is it not possible that there's some fat in some of those departments?

I read an article the other night about IG Horowitz's department and at first understood that his duties involved watching over 500 government employees. Okay. But when I went back and re-read the article, I learned that his department alone consisted of 500 employees!!!!! 500 friggin employees. Think about the size of that government payroll.

Key positions like those that have been recently vacated due to the office holders being involved in political activities, some possibly illegal? Oh the huge manatee. I think the republic will survive until others are found to replace them.

Here are the countries without ambassadors right now:

ASEAN, Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Bolivia, Congo (DR), Ivory Coast, Cuba, Egypt, European Union, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Jamaica, Jordan, Mongolia, Qatar, Saudia Arabia, Singapore, Somalia, South Africa, South Korea, Sudan, Sweden, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, Venezuela

A number of those listed are countries with whom we do not exchange ambassadors. I think you can figure them out.

She's been there since 2000 serving in the Bush and Obama administrations. IMHO---Trump kept way too many swamp dwellers when he came into office. That said, the government is so big, its probably impossible to run without doing that.

Number 3 at DOJ stepping down
When you have the bureaucratic class of two parties against you and seeking to undermine you...and you only have two parties....then it is awfully hard to find people to fill positions with.

Even when you do, they are often inexperienced since they haven't been part of the ruling class. And since you have the state media organs in lockstep against you you can account on inexperience, or inability to find people, to both be highlighted daily.

Tough row to hoe.

Okay, so I looked it up. The State Department employs 30,266 people. I had no idea that they'd been so decimated. DavidSt is right, how can they keep the coffee hot and the water coolers full much less fill vacancies?
