Yes there is an entire thread about it, but the short version is Dallas/Ft. Worth is the location centrally located for the most schools. SMU, Memphis, Houston, Tulsa, WSU, and to a lesser extent Tulane are all drivable. Easy to get flights to for Florida schools and Cincy and temple. It's not so great for UConn and ECU.

Hartford has direct flights to Dallas. It's not the flights that will keep UCONN fans from attending the conference tourney...

Further yes, but all those cities are drivable to Memphis as well. Even Houston-Memphis--I've driven it many times

You can search for the thread and bump it if you want but all of this was gone over. It is in Memphis next year and then probably moves permanently to Ft. Worth (I think 3 years were actually signed). It's on a neutral court in a major metro area, multiple sponsorship opportunities, etc people brought up a lot of good points for various cities it's pretty in depth.

But what about other fan bases?
Should we expect a big following from Cincy, Houston and else?
No. Cincinnati will bring a few. You won’t see a single Texan at the tournament.
How about ECU fans?
ECU has sold out their allotment already

The only way that happens is:
1) Our allotment is 25 tickets, and the players' families bought them all.
2) ECU bought our entire allotment and sent them all to Orlando to donate to local troops, along with ECU t-shirts.
