They were basically told by the FBI months ago that he would not be able to get a clearance. Yet trump never gave him a clearance (which he could have) and he continued to be able to handle classified top secret information.

Remember when you guys cared about that when it concerned democrats and Hillary?

Funny how you all know nothing about clearances until Trump does something. Trump cannot award clearances, if so none of his people would be waiting on them.

Wrong. trump can allow anyone he wants to read classified information. One of the powers he has as president. Normally though, and what's normal with this **** show, they either get the FBI clearance or they send them on their way. But bottom line, the White House issues the clearances, not the FBI.

Basically, this is an area governed by norms as much as anything else, and we might be facing a situation we’ve never faced before.

Perhaps you should read up on what this guy actually does. He basically handles every piece of classified information that crosses the presidents desk.

Again, this used to matter when it was the democrats and Hillary.

Nothing but lies in this thread. Wray just admitted under oath that the investigation was ongoing up until January, with additional information on his background check being submitted as late as January.

Reading classified materials does not equal clearances honey.

Let me clarify. The president can declassify and let people read. He cannot grant clearances. Typically people in a presidential administration have been in DC already and the clearances take 6 weeks. Problem is most of the staff never worked politics.

And the WH agency granting clearances =/= Trump granting clearances. F'n amature hour with RWT.

You're arguing semantics. The president has the authority allow anyone he wants clearance to read classified intel. It's just normal to have them be cleared by the agencies. However, the WH itself is the one who grants the clearance.

And by trump allowing him to read the material, he has in effect cleared him. The clearance is just normally gotten...in a normal White House that is.
