I'm of the opinion that AAC recruiting is or will be different than the mid major conferences because of the resources and commitment in those leagues.

High Mid-Major leagues have a lot of tradition, TV deals and in some cases power level basketball facilities. They are definitely better off than lower tier conferences.

Sorry, but the Sun Belt isn't High Mid Major. They aren't even in top 20 Conference RPI.

CUSA does have a number of programs that used to be names to conjure with--UTEP, UAB, Western Kentucky, Old Dominion, UNCC. That and a $5 gift card will get you a cup of coffee, but it's more than a dozen other one-bid leagues can say.

They're not comparable to the AAC, but they have past glory that most of the other one-bid leagues don't.

And the Ivy has 5 teams who have been to a sweet 16 and 3 final 4 teams.

CUSA isn't even comparable to the A10 historically. CUSA with 4 teams making elite 8 to 11 for the A10. Every single A10 team has made the sweet 16.

I forgot that the A-10 is a one-bid league this year. BCS > AAC, A-10 > MWC, WCC > everyone else, with CUSA and MVC a little ahead of the rest. (Ivy is a special case, has more athletic potential than anyone if they choose to care again)

It might not be. St. Bonaventure has moved into a lot of projected brackets as a second team from the a-10.

They have a lot of new programs at the moment.

The ability to get a national basketball deal is there unlike most of their peers rated near them in the RPI because they have FBS football.

CCU is the only new program. They won't get a national basketball deal. Nobody outside those schools cares about Sun Belt Basketball, or football, for that matter.

Since the expansion to 68 teams, the Sun Belt has gotten one at-large, MTSU, who is in the C-USA now.

Sun Belt is one of 9 conferences to have to be in the 16-seed play-in game more than once. 3 conferences have been in the Play-in game once, 20 have never.

Sun Belt Seeds since 2011:

2011 - 16 seed play in
2012 - 16 seed play in
2013 - 16 seed
2014 - 14 seed
2015 - 14 seed
2016 - 12 seed
2017 - 15 seed

That's not a high major anyway you slice it

Bonnies need to finish the regular season without a loss and win 2 in the conf tourney to be safe. If they win until the conf tourney final that is like 25 or 26 wins including a recent top 25 win.

That is all assuming Rhody doesn't clean their clock in the final of course. Despite a gaudy win total - they are still fragile enough that a late season ass-whoopin' could kill them.

As of today, Lunardi's bracket gives 32 spots to just 4 conferences: The ACC, SEC, Big 12 and Big East. He now has the A10 getting an at-large bid, bringing the total conferences with more than 1 bid to 9.

true. But he's got from those conferences 9 of the last 10 teams in the tourney but then 0 of the first 7 teams out of the tourney. So in other words, it's absolute best case for those 4 conferences.

Yeah. The bubble this year is broader and more fluid than any I can remember.
