RE: Charleston - Senior Night
Drexel is totally different with Williams on the floor. As for Elon, they have the same players they did last year, so I cannot count them out. They are struggling right now, which probably means they will go 3-0 this week and get the 5 seed. The Seahawks look capable. But, Charleston is the clear favorite. I really think Riller might be the player of the year. I know Wright Foreman has been great, too and Pusica for Northeastern as well, but Riller is a big reason they swept both Hofstra and Northeastern. But, he could lose some votes to Chealey, I guess.

I wasn't that impressed with CofC the first time we played them, but they won me over Saturday night. They have great weapons with Riller, Chealey, and Brantley. Not as deep as UNCW last year but those 3 could all warrant POY recognition.

Might still be salty from getting their arses kicked IN CHARLESTON last year

We could here a young girl dropping F bombs from where I sit. That's really loud. That very well could have been the problem. And that's not the Seahawk way. Glad that was taken care of. C of C fans had every right to complain.

Well next year when C of C comes to Trask the students should be ready for transfer Sam Miller who had an embarrassing night in jail!

Well this confirms earlier assumptions made about the type of players that Earl Grant brings into his program. McGrath would never take a kid with a history like that.

Not shocked he would add someone like this, honestly. Doesn't take away from the fact they're a very good team. I stand by my earlier opinion of their behavior though. I'm capable of separating the two in my mind though. Very good basketball; poor behavior.

Anyways...

Hope he doesn't accidentally lose his pants during a game and think it'd be a good idea to slap Cacok.

If he decides to slap Cacock, let's at least hope he has his pants on COGS

That is the official release from C of C back in January in case anyone was wondering.

"We are really excited to have Sam join our program," CofC Head Coach Earl Grant said. "He is a young man that we watched and evaluated while he was in high school. We believe he will be a great addition to our program on the court and in the classroom."

The above is from that link. Quite a small article, and conveniently leaves out how Miller may represent CofC in the slammer.

Evidently Charleston cut down their nets after clinching the regular season title last night.

So lame.

Regular season titles are participation trophies

I wouldn't go that far, but I'm not above sending them a box of cherry ring pops as a "congrats" on the regular season title.

An auto NIT bid is nothing to sneeze at at this level, but certainly not worth cutting down the nets for. Whoever wins the regular season in most years is good enough to get to the NIT anyways...

A regular season title is more significant than a tournament championship, IMO. I get the importance of making the NCAA tournament in a one-bid league, but I still can't minimize consistency over 10 weeks; it's more impressive than a 3-4 day run, especially in a league where you play double round-robin.

Maybe he meant in the court instead of on the court.
