Seen and heard at Devlin Fieldhouse today ...

After Jamal Johnson's 8-point, 8-rebound performance, his father, former NBA player Buck Johnson, approached a Memphis staff member and said this:

"You guys are doing a great job with him."

Man has better sense than any of us.

Well, he is doing a great job with Jamal and other players, too. The issue is that he is not bringing in enough high level players & failed to keep the ones we had. Not many fans have an issue with the actual coaching.

That’s a bingo.

If Tubby recruited at the same level of his coaching up players, we'd be top 10. Unfortunately he doesn't.

I imagine he is.

Tubby is starting a kid who averages 6 and 3 and is shooting 33% from the field and 31% from three yet is playing the third most minutes on the team.

Now Nickelberry's folks...

Nickelberry’s dad is no Buck Johnson.

Buck Johnson was a damn good pro. And yes Tubby can coach.

What’s your name on twitter Tigx? I’ll check out your tweets.

I mainly tweet about Grizzly stuff. How do I pm you? Didn't even know my PMs were turned off until a few weeks ago when I got in trouble.

Click on my name, then click on send Joe1 a private message

Just make sure you don’t start calling him by his name (twitter account), he gets sore about it.

I will say that he has the resume to know what he is talking about.

Oh, C'MON MAN!

Since when did it matter that you know what you're talking about? One simply repeats the same thing over and over, the "everybody knows" line, then shouts down and name-calls those who don't fervently jump onboard.

He probably also doesn't look up the RPI, Kenpom, standings...that kind of stuff either. Let's give Tubby a medal for coaching our players up. We are definitely headed in the right direction.

He probably doesn't. Because he was an actual player not some poser (or hoser if that relates better. Sorry just had to throw the Doug and Bob McKenize reference in cause it rhymed. I was just kidding.) or a media guy the uses that crap to create click bait. Case in point. Northern Colorado is ranked way ahead of us in all those rankings but I have seen them play several times this season and I will promise you we will beat them every time we play them.

Doesn't have anything to do with the point I was making about inaccurate rankings but I always pick my team.
