I read that last night. Like I’ve said several times, it’s a no-brainer. Penny can bring in Wiseman and several others would follow.

With the right assistants under him, like say, Tony Madlock, we can be in contention for a title soon. Thoughts of the 1990’s Razorbacks comes to mind.

If Rudd and Bowen don't make this move this year, they may never get Tiger hoops back to respectability. At some point they become accountable for this mess

They are only worried about us hiring him because of 1 player...Wiseman.

Imo, Wiseman is not coming here even if Penny is the Tigers' coach. He is going to a true blueblood because they really really want him.

99% UK, Duke, UNC or Kansas.....1% Memphis even with Penny as the coach.

If Cal was still Memphis' coach he would have a very good shot to get Wiseman. Penny, nope.

Isn't Shawne the only top 25 player out of Memphis Cal was able to land.

If Cal were still here (if he had never left), do you not think he would "have a very good shot" (like I said in the above post) to get Wiseman to stay in Memphis and play for him?

He convinced Derek Rose, Dejuan Wagner, Tyreke Evans, Xavier Henry, Demarcus Cousins, John Wall, Eric Bledsoe, Qyntell Woods, Kendrick Perkins, Amari Stodamire, etc, etc, to come to Memphis to play for him but you seem to doubt that he would have a "very good shot" to convince the #1 player in the nation who is a couple of miles away to play for him?

Once again, I'm not talking about 2004 or 2005 John Calipari at Memphis. We are talking about 2018 (if he never left) John Calipari at Memphis. We would be Duke if he had stayed. We would be Kansas or UNC if he had stayed. Yeah, I don't think he would've had trouble signing a local Memphis player if he really wanted him.

Cal was unfortunately bigger than our program...
