Let me explain it to you in terms you can relate to.

Let's say you're making the 4 mile walk to the stadium from your buddy's car and he informs you that he will be charging you $1 for gas and that he forgot to bring the 3 cans of Busch Lite for you. Instead of having to spend $3 for the free ride and beer, you are now forced to fork over $25 in order to enjoy the same experience.

You can still be happy that you got a ride, drank 3 beers and got to watch a football game in the presence of your cheap loser friends, while at the same time being outraged at having to take out a bank loan, and blasting through your social and leisure budget for the entire football season on 1 game. Each experience, the winning and being driven into debt are separate experiences that stand alone as either enjoyable or depressing.

That's what this is. People are happy that we won, but not happy with the overall picture.

Smackboy is claiming that some are angry that we won 2 games. I tried to enlighten him but it didn't quite work out.

I think he’ll be gone next year if he doesn’t make the tourney. The payoff goes down $3 million +.

If a donor thinks it’s wise to pay him off, he’ll be gone. Not many people, including the Fred Smith’s of the world, like to give away $10 million. This could happen at big money schools, but not here. Ain’t happening....

No one here is angry because we won. We just don’t let a win over Tulane overshadow everything else going on with this once proud program. To call fans miserables because of that is kinda lame.

We are all glad we won. But we are Memphis and they are Tulane. We are suppose to win those games... a Tulane win shouldn’t be a breath of fresh air for this program and these fans.

And they didn't have their starting PG.

How many teams did we play this year that didn't have 1 or more people out of the lineup?

It's uncanny.

I opened a business 20 years ago which has afforded me to pay tuition for 2 stepkids at the University! Also a small farm. Don't you ever blindly demean me by suggesting I'm not capable of handling my affairs! This board is about discussion! You sir can kiss my ass! No I don't have to pay anyone 10mil but don't belittle fellow fans for having a opinion on the direction of the program!
