Wow, for a moment there I thought Tony Madlock was the successor, not just an interim coach.

I have no idea who the Black Bears will hire, but it's not exactly a stellar job.

Some of their fans are really wanting them to go after Penny.

Their fans also probably think they could get coach k.
But seriously this worries me. I don't think he actually wants that job but his itch has grown strong and will want to be on a d1 bench somewhere after this season. My opinion.

Even though it is interim, still happy for Tony. He has put the work in.

Tough break for a.....NOT!!!! I just feel sorry for Markel. But I hope Tony gets a serious consideration for the HC job. Probably won't but here's hoping for his sake.

Hypothetically-

If Tubby is told to change his staff and say Joe E leaves, would madlock maybe be an option here?

Joe E should be the last one that leaves. I'd hope the administration would say "we ain't talking about him tubby".

Unless they can also tell him who to hire, Tubby will more than likely hire another friend or family member.

Oh I agree, but if Tubby had the power to dismiss Lawson who claims he had an agreement with Bowen, then tubby isn’t going to be forced to remove Saul or pooh

Really? Esposito has been Tubby's assistant for 11 years. Try Pooh or Saul. Besides making a change in the assistant coaching won't help, Tubby is still the HC. Short of winning the NCAA tourney (03-lmfao), I don't think the fans (season ticket sales) will return under Tubby's tenure. And the 2018/19 season will continue on its downward path if he isn't replaced.

Markel should have stayed in Memphis, it was his decison so I don't think I feel really bad for him but then again stubborn Tubby should've actually acted like he wanted him.

At Memphis, I'd like to see:
Penny (HC) with:
Murry Bartow (many years of HC coaching experience)
Tony Madlock (many years of D1 Asst Coaching)
Antonio Anderson (Heart of Memphis)
Preston Laird (Young up-and-comer at UNLV)

Joe E. does the work of three assistants, getting zero help from Tubby's spoiled kid or Pooh. If he leaves nobody decent would be stupid enough to take that thankless job.

Penny $500,000
Murry Bartow (many years of HC coaching experience) $60,000
Tony Madlock (many years of D1 Asst Coaching) $45,000
Antonio Anderson (Heart of Memphis) $25,000
Preston Laird (Young up-and-comer at UNLV) $15,000

That is a hell of a staff for under $700,000. I would try and have Penny accept $455,000 to get it down to an even $600,000; which is fair for a former player, and in fact they are all former players so they should all be willing to work for less. IF attendance goes to 12,000 per game bump Penny to $3.5 million.

Make it happen!!!

They could turn it into a paid vacation.

Gosh, those are some really inviting numbers you got there. I am sure they are all salivating.
