NCAA Div. II Basketball pundits please respond...
In NCAA DI everybody always talks about Mid-Majors,High Majors, low majors. Can conferences in D2 "sort of" be put in these categories?
I'll start--just my opinion : HM-GLVC
MM-?
LM--G-MAC?
Thoughts?,Comments?

I’d say the Gulf South would be the Division 2 equivalent of the A10. Very competitive basketball league with football & basketball schools.

D2 is hard because it doesn't get the run that D1 does. I'm a Tarleton State fan, a team in the Lone Star Conference. I can keep up with my team, but sometimes keeping up with the rest of my conference is tough. Based on the Massey link, I would call the LSC a High Major (even though we don't produce many National Champions in basketball)
2018 Current - #2
2017 - #5
2016 - #1
2015 - #1
2014 - #2
2013 - #3

Isn't Tarleton St. waiting on a SLC invite right now.

Pretty much, but that depends on who you ask.
Officially, the University has put together a D1 taskforce to discuss if the institution should accept a D1 invite in the event that it is offered.
Unofficially-
Tarleton has already raised its athletic fee and is in the process of doing a $24m upgrade to the football stadium. It has Division 1 listed in the institution's strategic plan and has previously applied to the SLC.

I'm an MEC fan. I would say we are a high major to top tier mid major. Top programs such as West Liberty are legit but the bottom few teams are pretty weak.

The two D2 leagues in my area are top dog conferences in D2 - MIAA and GLVC.

The biggest difference in the NCAA tourney between D1 and D2 is that D2 is truly broken down by regions. You can be the 9th best team in the country, but if that also means you're the 9th best team in your region, you won't qualify for the tourney.
Here is a link that breaks down the regions for this year.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Div...Tournament
For instance, the Lone Star Conference in whichever WTAMU is apart of is in the South Central Region, along with the Heartland and RMAC. In order per Massey, they are #2, #8, and #13.
The Central Region looks to be the toughest, with the #1, #3, and #9 conferences.
