It only took him until 80% of the regular season was over to figure it out. HOF here we come!

Zone seems to work better when played against teams that have lost 5 straight (SMU) and 6 straight games (Tulane).

Kind of what I was thinking, it was really bad SMU and Tulane teams... We already beat Tulane earlier in the year while still playing man to man. I guess we will see how well it really works when we play Houston.

But it took a MASSIVE differential in FT attempts to win that game.

True.

Tulane made 13 of 19

We hit 35 of 43...Martin was 15 of 15 with 31 points.

96-89 final score.

Martin won that game--playing heroball at the end. Tubby had already set it up to blame Martin if we lost. But heroball saved the day.

No matter what happened, win or lose, all Tubby's ducks were in a row.

I've worked under and alongside several older men in engineering and operations management where they have either lost the mental ability to do the job any longer, or they didn't keep up with industry advances, or they were "friend" hires in the first place and never able to do the job well then their protector was gone and they had to stand on their own two feet. I've seen the behavior you're talking about too many times.

Maybe you can answer this then. I've been wondering. Do you think Tubby does this instinctively or does he strategerize his plan of action?

I guess it could be some of both.

shrug

Oh, I highly doubt he would sit around on a Wednesday and plan things to say the next few days so that if we lost on Saturday he would have a scapegoat already set up. For the people I mentioned that I've been around, I guess you could call in "instinctive". I figured it was ingrained weasel-ness or behavior they got away with as a child that they revert back to once pushed into CYA mode. It's a mindset, a constant consciousness to deflect responsibility and put others in the line of fire. I've sat in, not "board meetings", but high level meetings with VP's who make several million a year and heard 60 year old men, Division Mgrs., Gen. Mgrs., Sr. Mgrs., make pitifully childish, ridiculous responsibility-shirking statements. Of course, the real sad part is when the VP's were the type of people who accept and believe that kind of stuff.

Lol...Tulane was getting smashed all game long...

FT differential wasn't the difference because we shot over 10 FTs at the end of that game. If we would maintain intensity we would win games like that by 30.

We shot 81+% though. We only won by 7 points.

Cheap at twice the price.

Tubby played you.

Like he does every one else.

I'll never understand the baby boomer ideal of the "good ole boa" contract.

By me I assume you mean the Tiger nation at large. I tolerated the guy at first and realize that last year was only partially his fault, but would have been fine with firing him.

He's certainly a con man.

Race Car guy loves to blame the officials when we win.

They hit a ton of 3's late in the game to cut it to 7...Don't you remember

We were up 16 with around 4 minutes left and they hit 7 3 pointers in the final 4 minutes and we shot 16 FTs in that span.
