What are the predictions? Have possible candidates been discussed? Will it be someone with W&M ties or an outsider with bold vision?

The Committee had until 15 Feb to submit 3 recommendations to the BOV.

My only hope is it is someone with a progressive and aggressive mindset on athletics that can walk in lockstep with AD Huge.

I may be reading to much into this, but just naming someone president isn't what I would consider "making history," so will there be something unique about this president, for example the new president isn't a white male?

My understanding is that they will name 3 candidates first. The tone of the rector's email seems otherwise. Let's wait and see.

Video makes it sound like the candidates wish to remain anonymous because many are currently happily employed and don't want an uncomfortable situation if they are not picked. Speaks to a final selection and not presenting candidates.

I vote for Larry Pulley.....not even sure if he's a finalist, but he's a huge fan of athletics. He's done a great job with the business school

<Breaking News> Katherine Rowe is an avid ultimate frisbee player. Her first initiative might be to order Huge to form a new girl's ultimate frisbee team.


Outside of her teaching and scholarship, Rowe plays and coaches Ultimate Frisbee; she led the Lower Merion (Pa.) High School Girls Ultimate team to state championships in 2009, 2010 and 2013.

Certainly no proof that Rowe fits this description. Will have to wait and see I guess.

I'm just going to leave this here, and you take what you want from it.

Looks like she's technology savvy and has run a company also. Good things on her resume.

Big step from where she was at just four years ago. I hope she is ready for much broader responsibilities and leadership. Would be interesting to know if she pursued the position, or if we initiated the interest:

She didn't say a single thing about athletics. And, no, saying she's an athletic competitor doesn't count.

Of course, no one should make a finding based on a 20 minute talk so it's a wait and see stance for me.
