Tennis Rankings 2/20/18
First computerized rankings are out.
http://www.itatennis.com/ResultsAndRanki...eb__20.htm

Women's team is #39.

Texas Tech is #8, UT is #16, Oregon is #18, FIU is #33, Stanford is #36, Old Dominion is #40, A&M is #44, TCU is #46.

Still early in the season, but some rankings are surprising.

No singles ranked.

Hodge and Zhang are ranked #16.

Men were not in any of the rankings.

It will be interesting this weekend as the women travel to Baton Rouge to face #25 LSU.

LSU has faced such heavy weight programs as Northwestern State (W), Southern (W), Washington (L), Fresno State (W), Alcorn State (Wx2 in a rare doubleheader); and Nicholls State (W). Obviously the only real program they have faced is Washington and that resulted in their only loss this spring.

Their schedule is probably why LSU is in fact not ranked in the top 50 in the computer rankings. However, they have 4 players in the top 125.

They are 3-5. They have had a tough early schedule with losses to #3 Ole Miss, #7 Vanderbilt, #20 Kentucky, #28 UCF, #29 Tulsa. They just beat Miami who was ranked #17 last week, but are not ranked in these new computer rankings. Looking at last weeks rankings, Baylor was receiving votes. So it seems there's quite a few differences in the computer rankings vs the ballots.
