A sportswriter says U of North Dakota has nine. Many as women hockey players, but we dropped that sport. Supplied Finland with much of their women's team, but have US athletes too. A current mens hockey player is on Norway's team, and one former player is on Canada's team.

If the NCAA sponsored curling, we would be a power too. In past Olympics, current students would be part of the curling team.

The Norwegian team is popular there, as many people recognize the surnames from the people they know. Apparently, have relatives from way back that are current gold medalists.

God, I wish curling was a college event. I grew up curling in St. Paul. Good times.

Wisconsin has 11 across all countries
5 - Women's hockey Canada
4 - Women's hockey US
2 - Men's hockey Canada

Not sure how many overall from past olympics but the MW has 13 total in this years olympics.

8 are from Utah St for this year. I'm sure they have more in other Olympics.

Think I got this right.

UND had three gold medalist alumni: the Lamoureux twins in women's hockey and one member of the US curling team. The Lamoureax's scored the decisive goals to tie it and win it.

Four bronze medals, three Finnish ones for women's hockey and a Canadian one for men's hockey.

UND has always provided men's hockey players whenever the USA medals. Just so happens that no UND alumni was on the team this year.

I think Minnesota had nine of their alumni in the women's hockey game between the USA and Finland.

Denver's five Olympians included one American (Troy Terry- Ice Hockey, a current junior), two Canadian alums (Erik Read/Trevor Philp) in men's skiing, one Croatian (Andrea Komsic, current sophomore) in women's skiing, and alumnus Leif Haugen, who won a Bronze medal for Norway in the team alpine skiing event.

Cale Makar from UMass turned down a spot on the Canadian hockey team. So does UMass get a -1?
