I didn't realize he was that old.

Sad news.

Not a sad day for Billy though I imagine. His first day in eternity with our Lord and Savior.

I had no idea he met with Queen Elizabeth very early into her reign. Counseled her. That's pretty damn cool.

While not 100% historically accurate, if you haven't watched The Crown on Netflix, there's an episode on his meeting with her. Very well done.

I wrote a paper in college about his use of TV. He was brilliant about using the new medium at the time

Great Christian example. If anyone watched NBC news they choose to bring up a statement he made over 50 years ago, he deeply regretted. Really disgusted by NBC choosing to include that in their report for a non-political person.

I was able to attend one of his crusades when he spoke at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium decades ago. The place was packed. SRO

Went to a Crusade at Clippers Stadium in Columbus Ohio in the early 90s.
It was packed and watching people come forward to commit themselves to Christ was really moving.

A well-lived life serving God.
I have no doubt today he is reaping his eternal reward.
RIP Rev Graham.

America could use another Billy Graham...now more than ever.

BTW following an earlier post: The Crown is an excellent show...

Why am I not surprised. Anyone having a bit to do with Trump or conservatives is their enemy.

Billy Graham had nothing to do with Trump. While conservative, he was apolitical. His son has taken his legacy and destroyed it.

While Billy Graham's mission to bring people to GOD, his son's mission is to bring people to GOP.

There will never be another minister like him on a national level. One who stays out of politics and reaches across party lines to both sides.

RIP

I remember him packing UK's football stadium-for about 3 nights in a row-back in the 60s.

RE: America's Pastor has been called home
When in HS, I joined a youth group that met at the Western Springs Baptist church. I had stopped being a Catholic (if that is possible) and the church I went to was the first church that Billy Graham was the pastor at after he graduated from Wheaton College, which was down the road from Western Springs, IL.

Later on, I went to the opening ceremony of the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College. I was impressed. The people who took me wanted to make fun of the opening and the hoopla. They were hateful people. I enjoyed it and it was a great night for me. Tons of people showed up.

Later on, I met my wife and went back to the Catholic Church. I am even a Knight of Columbus. I never forgot the kindness and openness of the people of that Baptist Church in WS.

The Lord is very powerful and moves you in ways and places you with people who shape your life forever.

RIP Rev. Graham.
