which would be a JOKE

OU has lost what, 20 in a row at this point? I'm surprised they aren't ranked. You can tell people want to rank them but they keep losing. It's funny actually.

Not a joke. OU is a Power school.

It would take a couple more stunning losses for Houston not to go dancing. If Lock means...100% nothing can happen to prevent them from going, then no, houston isn't a lock. I'd say there is a 98%+ chance they'll be dancing.

I would say its only not a lock because the AAC gets ZERO respect. And I get it. We got two teams in the ncaa last year....TWO. That screams mid major.

For us to be the conference we thought we'd be in hoops and SHOULD be in hoops, Memphis and UCONN have to get back to being ranked. s

Bottom line, this conference tanked at the WORT time, with the whole P5/G5 thing going on. The Big East was spared because during the same time Nova won it all and XU has been great along with Butler, Creighton, Providence, Seton Hall etc. all being solid to good.

Please, UH has 2-4 bad losses. For certain, they have 4 losses to non-bubble teams and one really bad one. No one is even really good in the AAC this year except the top three.

Memphis and Tulsa I believe still have a shot. Houston has to win out and win at least one game in the tournament

The Tigers have a legit shot at the CBI or CIT Tournament but I think we will have to win the AAC Tourney to earn an NCAA Bid (very unlikely) and win the remaining of regular season games (doable) and win two games in the AAC Tourney to merit NIT inclusion discussion (doubtful). The Tiger’s profile is mediocre, at best, despite the upset over Houston.

First of all, Bowen has already announced we would never accept a bid to the CBI or CIT, so those are out. Not sure the AAC even endorses those any more.

If we win 2 of 3 with at UConn and home to USF and ECU, we will finish 5th or 6th, and will play USF or ECU again, first, followed by likely Tulsa as the 4 seed or Houston as the 3 seed.

We could conceivably win both AACT games before going down to UC or WSU. If we beat UConn Sunday, that will be 22 wins, and we would likely make the NIT, contingent on how many reg season champs need slots.

If we lose to UConn but win the rest, it will be borderline.

That is questionable. We have one player who is currently playing who played for us last season and 3 of our 7 players playing are freshman. And don't get me started on the "good" part. We are 1-5 without Shake and Jarrey and 2-6 without Jarrey.

But I get your point. UH can't slip up twice against ECU, SMU or UConn and then lose in first round of conference tourney and sleep well at night the next few days.

I thought Shake was (almost) back. Sorry...

UH is 21-6 and #21 in the rpi.

UH has more Group 1 wins than Duke, Clemson, Louisville, Miami, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Nevada, Wichita State, Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Arizona, USC, Gonzaga, Creighton, Seton Hall, Butler, Rhode Island, TCU, and St. Mary's among others.

UH is 13-0 at home with two more home games against ECU and UConn. There are only 6 other teams with undefeated records at home.

We're a lock unless you think we're going 0-4 to finish the year. Back off the ledge.

Stranger things have happened than UH not making the NCAA Tournament. Gotta finish the job.

You noted UH has more Group 1 wins than many teams...what serious at-large candidate has more losses to non-bubble teams?

If they aren't careful, they can be SMU'd out of the Tournament a la 2013.

The Memphis loss hurt. A loss to ECU and a first round tournament loss will put you out. Win the games and you are in the tournament.

SMU was AP #25 in the 2013 regular season final poll and missed the Tourney. Just sayin...

Yup. Fringe Top 25 teams from non-cartel conferences almost always fall squarely on the bubble. This year it's Houston, Middle Tennessee, and St Bonnies.

SMU lost their last three games. Two the week of that poll and first round AAC. Houston just can’t do the same.

I tend to agree, but Houston also has more Q3 and Q4 losses than most everybody in the bunch. Bad losses hurt as much as big wins help.

Especially considering that Houston has zero tournament reputation. The committee will be looking for any excuse to exclude them from the tournament while a Duke would enjoy any excuse for inclusion.

Sampson is also considered to be a bit of a cheater. That makes it hard for the national media to fully get their arms around the program. Trying to hype Houston on live television is akin to tiptoeing on eggshells when the subject turns to Kelvin.

Even though the NCAA and the national media machine condone cheaters, they don't condone cheating...

Good wins weigh much heavier than bad losses.

Houston is in but their seed could be 5-11 depending on what they do.

Not in this case, we have seen teams tumble into the ten eleven seed line before. That would be a complete collapse. Even winning one game likely makes them a 9. Two is 8/9. More than that puts them around 7. Win out including tourny champs 5.
