More on Trump's military killing Russians
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/russia-vlad...ies-syria/

"We are learning more about who was likely behind an attack earlier this month on a rebel base in northern Syria, where American forces were embedded with the fighters. The Russian mercenaries who carried out the siege -- which was repelled by U.S. airstrikes -- were reportedly working for oligarch Yevgeny Prigozhin, a close ally of Vladimir Putin and the same man accused of running a troll factory that targeted American voters.
As CBS News correspondent Elizabeth Palmer reports, the attack took place on Feb. 7, and the U.S. response resulted in a number of Russian mercenaries being killed. There were no U.S. casualties.
When the U.S. soldiers called in airstrikes to defend themselves, they had no idea they would end up killing dozens Russian civilians...."

<writer doesn't seem to be very good at language-these were Russian citizens, but they were mercenaries, not "civilians.">

WTF are we doing there? Never fight a war that you don't intend to win. Never, never, never, never fight a war when you want both sides to lose.

Couldnt agree more. We no longer fight to win anywhere. Once you concern yourself with collateral damage---you've already lost. In WWII we firebombed entire cities like Dresden and Tokyo. We dropped a nuke on Japan because it would end up saving US GI's if we didnt have to go house to house storming Japan. We fought to win. Frankly, if the US military has to fight with one arm behind its back---it really isnt all that scary. Look, if it aint worth fighting all out for---then maybe it aint worth losing American lives for. All you need to do is fight one battle "all out" and any attraction to using arms to stand up to the US will wane quickly.

I am not really following this whole idea that we are fighting "Russians." We are fighting mercenaries, some of whom come from Russia and parts related.

The article speculates that Putin's buddy has a private Russian army trying to seize the oil fields so that he gets a cut.
