RE: 2/24 AAC Basketball Games
Jank's strategy against the Shockers today:

1) Pass the ball a minimum of two times in the half-court
2) Use your screens (optional if beyond 25 feet from the basket)
3) Let it fly! (the further you're out, the less defensive pressure you'll face)

"If we can hit 98% of our bombs today we win. If we hit 88% we'll keep it respectable. If we hit our season average we'll lose by 40."

SMU had a strong plan today and nearly executed it to a "T". They had guys swishing three's who'd made only a couple the entire year...

I wish everybody would stop treating us like Dook in this league. We never get a night off. SMU is a broken club; they should have known their place and mailed it in like they did against UC. But nooooo, they force us to exert 85% of our might in order to secure the win. What are you playing for Mustangs? Leave us alone! 03-banghead

Pretty sad to think anyone believes we treated that as a super bowl today. We sucked and lost by single digits.

Scoring 78, while shooting 15-31 from 3 is sucking?

31 cruise missiles launched. 50% hit rate!

ISIS would have had the lifespan of a gnat had SMU been a Navy battleship!

It was a performance for the ages. Young'ins will be talking about this on the ranch for generations.

P.S. McMurray's arms are way too long for his little body.

Pony, how'd you like the Shockers up close and personal? Didn't the game have a celebrity mystique to it? Don't lie. The swagger this program carries itself with on the road is a thing to behold.

Shockers be like...

The UCONN fans in this forum just hate on you for liking BC. I think its hilarious. You are a pebble in their shoe.

Go Eagles!!!
I like bc because my classmate is now their head coach. When bc left the beast i became a non fan. My classmate over at central conn became their head coach, adazzio so i became interested in Football only. I'm a uconn fan first always have been.
If you look back when beast football was alive I was on the message boards rootin for my huskies.

The WSU-SMU game was never in doubt. I wonder the subject of the conversation the coaching staff had with CJ Keyser after the game.

Oh you better believe the swag made it to H-Town... the swag was likely the problem.

After tearing the very soul out of the Coogs and then pissing on it in front of 10,506 + a national audience, the boys figured they'd know how to deal with Coog v. 2.0. But after taking a very formidable Louisville slugger shot to the head to start the game, the Shocks wilted (something I've rarely seen them do in the Marshall era) and proceeded to play catcher in a male-only sex act.

They clearly weren't mentally prepared for what the Coogs had planned for them. Credit to Sampson for gluing all the pieces of his team's psyche back together on such short notice. To be totally fair, Houston would rank last in the MoValley in recent NCAA appearances so the Shockers were just not going to give them any respect at all until they earned it. They certainly earned some in game two.

I wonder though what would have happened had the boys in black and gold treated the game like they were playing Baylor, ND, OSU, or Cincy? It doesn't really matter because it never would have happened. No way do you get up for a team after smashing them a week before.

Lessons were learned. Good game. 04-cheers
