Eff that guy. We can do better.

Will Tyra even try? I know Jurich would. That is the question.

You guys should've listened to this guy. He knew what he was talking about.

Better strip your visitors locker rooms down to the bare essentials. That will leave less for his teams to trash after they lose.

Cincy should be thanking us, now they might actually have a chance to beat lil ol Xavier. Cronin may be the top college basketball coach in Ohio now. Your welcome.

I think most of that was due to the intensity of the rivalry & emotions running high as they do in those games as it came from both sides. Speaking of which I do hope that this gets Cincinnati back on our schedule. Hopefully the Keg of Nails hasn't been lost.

Louisville's next coach
With Steele being named Xavier HC, Mack now has an opening on his staff. Who fills the open spot? Greg Paulus?

Or David Padgett. He said He would be very open to being an Assistant coach at a high profile program .

Rumor on the Rivals premium board is that the New Albany High School coach is being strongly considered now for that spot.

Is this an attempt at Romeo Langford? Or can that guy actually coach? Or ... I guess .. both?

He needs to be a HC somewhere but with the coaching carousel coming to a grinding halt without a spot for him he may have to take an assistant job. I would love to see him back on the Cards bench but that may cause some problems.

We've done it before too ... Way back in the 1970's .. hiring Wade Houston, and landing Male High talent left and right, up to Darrell Griffith. Of course, we got crushed when Tennessee hired Wade Houston for the head coaching gig, and we lost out on Allan Houston ... who I am convinced was the missing piece of Denny's early 1990's teams.

I don't think there's much to this rumor, honestly. There are some posters in that forum pretty connected to the New Albany area (and one who has coached hoops over there for decades), and know the coach well, and this would surprise them greatly. We'll see.

Romeo seems pretty set on a few schools & Louisville isn't one of them. I would rather get a quality assistant then a 1 & done kid. Still a chance that Ramey might recommit.

Sounds like Dino Gaudio will be the final assistant filling out Mack's staff. Could be a nice addition. We shall see.

That would be a nice addition. Dino doesn't have a good coaching record overall but he did go 61-31 at WF & had a 2nd place finish.

Skip Prosser had built a top 5 program at Wake Forest, when he died unexpectedly, Dino took over. The problem was that Dino couldn't control the thugs that made up Wake's team like Prosser could and when bad news started to leak out (assaults on females etc), Nathan Hatch (Wake Forest President) fired the coach of the #2 team in the country. Wake Forest does not tolerate bad behavior from anybody.
Wake then intentionally cleansed it's basketball program with Jeff Bzdelik before hiring Danny Manning.

Good info.

You'd hope that given time and distance from that situation, Dino (like most people when they age and go through adversity) has learned from that, and would be a better coach if given the opportunity. Especially in an assistant coach capacity.
