Dual Court and Curtain thoughts
First, I never thought I would title a thread with the word curtain. Second, we have seen some games with the setup now. I am just not impressed. It really feels small time. Has an AAU tournament feel and no one in the stands. We are moving backwards in regards to the progress C-USA is making on a national level.

We all need to join forces and call for the firing of Judy McCloud. #firejudy

The Chicago Tribune gave it a pretty positive write up.

I have no strong feelings one way or another w/r/t MacLeod (though as I've pointed out, her visit to Norfolk as assistant commissioner was apparently the catalyst for ODU being considered a viable expansion candidate and without that, perhaps the Monarchs are pissing off with Elon, Hofstra basketball and Rhode Island football in the CAA today).

That said, if this ends up being the final straw for her commissionership, I call dibs on starting the thread with the title It's Curtains for Judy MacLeod.

A lot of academic types are going to like it because it is innovative (it is). They have no stake or ties to the conference or resulty, don't care about overall public perception, or the piss poor look on TV. They just like that they tried something different.

RE: Dual Court and Curtain thoughts
The dual court thing: before the tournament, I thought it would be an unmitigated disaster. Now that I’ve seen some of it, I’d just call it an interesting experiment that was worth trying but should not be repeated. I haven’t heard any MTSU people says this, but I’m convinced the Raiders’ performance last night was affected by the different set-up. And for God’s sake, that doesn’t mean I think the dual-court factor made them lose the game, all by itself.

I know most people won’t want to hear this, but if the tournament feels/looks “small-time”, the fault lies more with the schools participating than the venue or the commissioner. Judy Macleod does not inspire my confidence and all-in-all I’d prefer someone else behind the wheel. But people who think she is the problem, or that getting rid of her will solve the problem, are only kidding themselves.

I love the quote that you don't hear anything from the other side - could it be because the crowds are small? None of the pictures are very flattering.

Another thought: This might actually be a really good setup (with some logistics cleanup) for a Texas-centric conference—say, with UTEP, UTSA, NT, Rice, TxSt, UTA, ArkSt, UALR, LaTech, ULL, ULM and USM.
