Sorry Tom. UK authorities just dislike any light being shined on the Muslim/Terrorism issue that they have. Citizens there are arrested and fined for anti Islamic social media posts. As well as other Euro countries. Nope has nothing to do with Trump. Thanks for playing.

Legend.
He did an hour with Alex Jones yesterday. Alex advanced him $20,000, and is looking to hire him now that he's left Rebel. I'm glad he will finally be at an outlet that can properly support and appreciates his work.

The UK is an orwellian shitehole.
I believe she is a Canadian citizen, not US, so the same level of response from the US is not prompted. And the "social experiment" that she ran, apparently in France, strikes me as very likely not being as innocent as she describes it. But I do see an alarming trend.
I've posted this before, but if I were president, I would make the following statement on the basis of our foreign policy.
We believe in human rights including life, liberty, and property. We will protect your citizens' rights to those things while in the USA, and we expect you to extend the same protections to Americans while in your country. If so, fine. If not, we will have problems, and we will do our best to see that those problems exceed your abilities to cope with them.
But you're not President. Trump is. And he apparently doesn't care about anyone outside his base.
Query relevance to this discussion?
Just replying to the poster. Completely reasonable that I would do so.
RE: The UK Is Now Unlawfully Detaining American Citizens For Wrong Think
I don't want to over simplify this but our laws are not their laws. It is not our place to judge how "they" choose to enforce their laws.
When you enter another country - if you choose to break their laws you are subject to their penalties..... you know, kind of like how we are trying to deport illegal immigrants right now......
I never was on board with those three idiots from UCLA getting a break either......
This stuff is a microcosm what ails many places in the world today. Entitlement and a pure lack of respect for anyone or anything but yourself........... then cry to get sympathy when they get "wronged" in their own mind.

No laws were broken. They were never even charged with anything.

What crime was committed or law broken?
If I’m getting this correctly, they were detained (read:jailed) for what they MIGHT do. None of it violent, so it appears.
Sounds like punishing the “wrong” kind of opinions... Thought police type stuff.

And again, the Austrian was an EU citizen who should have had free travel anywhere in Europe.
The American (or Canadian) should have been sent back if they didn't want her, not jailed for 3 days.

Of course, you're right. The UK has no obligation to allow anyone in.
I just find it funny that the UK has no issue with Islamic clerics preaching hate on their soil but this gets their panties in a wad.

But Democrats think the US has an obligation to let anyone in.

So much for being a "Cernovich story", tom. When will you learn that just because he or others in alternative media are first to something, doesn't make it illegitimate or a non-story? You're always going to be a day or two behind everyone else with that mindset. Sad.

RE: The UK Is Now Unlawfully Detaining American Citizens For Wrong Think
Something else I learned today, American journalists from ABC & NBC were previously able to travel to the UK and interview Tommy Robinson, without incident. So the reason gave to Pettibone does not hold up to scrutiny, and is complete bullsh*t.

Since YOU asked....I will state those unconcerned about the FRC's support of throwing all LGBT people in prison for the crime of existing, and those that support Trump's refusal to issue visas for LGBT persons fleeing genocide......I'm not really going to be feel like some extremist getting stopped at the border as an undesirable is going to be really much of a concern.
They do it all the time. They have to put up with their own extremists. They don't have to allow foreign ones in.
And let the Austrian sue over EU rules. LOL. Maybe they can sue in the ECHR court. They might rule against the UK and fine them 5 dollars for it. That's what they do when we sue over much much MUCH more severe abuses by Russia and Lithuania in those venues.

Russia isn't in the EU.
I mentioned the ECHR, to which Russia is a signatory. Both the EU and ECHR issue rulings with 'symbolic' fines that are routinely ignored by all sides. I'm VERY familiar with how these courts work. And they largely DON'T work. Otherwise you'd see Poland and Hungary behaving much better.

My point is - it is their country - they can deal with people however they choose. If they really think someone is a threat - they will do whatever they think they should to deal with it.
There is no "World Rule Book" that every country has agreed to follow on this stuff. If any of us were born and raised in the UK and knew nothing different - we may not think twice about this.
This is a risk any person takes when they leave where they are from. If you don;t like it or agree with it that is your choice. Consequences are something far too many people do not consider anymore......
