Should be for you... We weren't the ones who reached out to the mwc for membership and than later the AAC

Hahaha

Lord, you aren't making much sense. Take a breather.

Didn't wichita reached out to the mwc for membership and were turned down???

We expressed interest but just used them to force the AAC's hand. The AAC could not let Wichita go to the MWC.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

You mad? I thought you were hellbent on the MWC? You're waffling again.

I don't even know how to handle you Coogs when you're constantly moving the goal posts with everything, pun intended.

RE: Updates on UH Fertitta Center
This thread was supposed to be about our facility improvements, but of course WSU fans, as usual, can't keep on track. And anybody with average intelligence and ability to use google, would know it is called the Fertitta Center after the billionaire UH donor Tilman Fertitta who owns Landrys Inc.

It is getting to the point where WSU fans have to make every thread somehow about them on here. There like a mobile home in a middle-class neighborhood. The owner of the mobile home puts a new coat of paint on it and thinks it such an improvement to the neighborhood. Yet the neighbors still see the mobile home as an eyesore, and to make it worse there always keggers going on at the mobile home and it is always noisy well into the night. A bunch of residences can't wait for the real estate market to get better so they can sell their homes and get away from the noisy neighbor and his mobile home.

I would equate UH to the neighbor who use to be well off, but lost a fortune in a bad investment deal. The neighbor had to go into bankruptcy and nearly loss the house. Yet the neighbor worked hard and got back on track, and recently started a remodel of the home now they are back in financial stability.

Once again it wasn’t the WSU fans who brought up WSU. We did fire an attendance shot at UH, but UH brought up WSU. And really, who didn’t expect an attendance shot in a topic about UH’s arena.

So why did your President say you can’t afford all these new improvements if Houston doesn’t get into a power conference?

Talk about putting the cart before the horse.

It isn’t sustainable to spend as much as we have been spending given the amount this conference pays, but it doesn’t mean we are being irresponsible.

We didn’t do what Colorado state did - we funded our building projects and Fertitta center has 10m left to be funded that UH will raise. We aren’t just borrowing until we go bankrupt, but if we want to keep up the pace this league will need a much better deal or we will have to get a p5 invite.

This really speaks for all of the AAC schools who don’t want to get left behind.

Looking at all the ratings data that keeps coming in I would be shocked if the media deal isn't substantially better than what it has been. I mean the numbers honestly are very impressive and I couldn't imagine media companies not being interested. Hard to guess I could honestly see it being anywhere from 5-10 but that is a wide range. Hopefully it hits at least 8 because I think that would help a lot of the schools and maintain for some of the former big east schools.

My reference to UH going bankrupt is when we were left out of the Big 12 when the SWC folded. Our bad investment was getting involved with A&M and UT who left us to die. Coupling that with an administration that didn't care about athletics. We were in really bad shape. At one point there actually were talks about shutting the football program. But we hung in there, and slowly built back up. I would say our bankruptcy was in the 90s and early 2000s. Now we are in much better place and are starting to spend money on facilities. We have an administration that is determined to have great athletics. hence my reference to remodeling the house.

I would equate UH to the neighbor who use to be well off, but lost a fortune in a bad investment deal. The neighbor had to go into bankruptcy and nearly loss the house. Yet the neighbor worked hard and got back on track, and recently started a remodel of the home now they are back in financial stability.

To take the comparison further, then UCF would be the young, professional go-getter who would put in 100 hour work weeks, never take a day off, buy a small, modest home, and then here and there over time renovate and improve it while keeping an eye towards the future b/c he knows that "keeping up with the Jones's" is foolhardy.

And to take this comparison even further, USF would be the rich kid trust fund case who gets a bunch of money he didn't earn, goes out and acts like a big shot, spits on everyone else, and then ends up overpaying on rent for a place from someone else b/c he didn't have the foresight to look ahead that will ultimately prevent them from having something to call their own but hey, they had a bunch of money in their pocket for one whole week back in 2007!
