I hope our next coach isn't concerned with something so trivial.

I hope the protest doesn't become part of the college game, but simply because I'm so tired of hearing people ***** about it(though the humor of the people crying the loudest being largely the same people so fond of the term "snowflake" is not lost on me).

Personally I'd just rather we stopped playing the national anthem than have to continue having this debate, I mean it's not like these are international competitions...

Agreed. If you take a step back and really think about it, it doesn’t make much sense.

In fact, I think it trivializes it, if anything—especially in the nfl, which basically commercializes the anthem in making it a huge spectacle.

With what Kermit said, it really did seem like pandering, coming out of nowhere. Basically a step away from trying to start a USA chant.

Yep, I've never understood why we play the National Anthem before sporting events between two American teams. The NFL and to a lesser extant MLB is so absurd with all the giant flags, fly overs...I've also felt like it was forced and basically an army recruiting commercial.

Bingo.

Quote:Overall, the Defense Department spent at least $10.4 million on “marketing and advertising contracts with professional sports teams” across the board between 2012 and 2015, although, the report noted, the department “[could not] accurately account” for the full number of contracts and payouts it had awarded. “It only reported 62 percent (76 of 122) of its contracts and 70 percent ($7.3 million) of its spending in its response to our inquiry,” the senators wrote.

Well Beed,

I think your observation was spot on and our rah rah of Kermit was probably a bad move. I mean a really stupid and dumb move. One of the decommitted signees looking at Ole Miss already.

Decommited signee Fagan in Ole Miss duds

He should have been sent on at first sign and Grensing should have taken over until the end of the season.

Nice try fellas. But the correct answer would be:

What Would Bo Schembechler Do? For 500 Alex.

The question I’m asking is why the hell ain’t he GONE? Massaro with no balls. Bo Schembechler was around back when men were men. And in his mind Michigan Men were Michigan Men. He sent Frieder’s assss packing!!!

I actually understood why Middle did what they did. Kermit DID take them to levels they’d never reached before as a program. He was there for so long too. So I don’t doubt that Kermit really believed he was doing his best FOR Middle. But then he moves on like he was supposed to and guess what....I need some damn players in here. Those guys on their own volition asked for releases. No surprise if some end up with the guy they wanted to play for in the first place.

My point was that I couldn’t imagine Western ever letting a coach stay on after they accepted another job. The hard core example of it was Bo Schembechler at Meesheegan.

Making him leave probably changes nothing in the recruits asking for releases. Everything plays out the way it has. But I just thought it had a skeevy feel to it.

JMO, but I don't think Kermit had a lot to do with it. I believe it was initiated more by Fagan than Kermit. Fagan had a great year and the coach who he wanted to play for was moving up to "the big time". I just think Fagan seized the opportunity to play in the SEC. I very well could be wrong, but that is my gut feeling.
