I made a comparison earlier between the 2016 UH football team and this years Shockers. People from both fan bases disagreed with my comparison but given their early exit I believe my comparison has been vindicated. The two teams are one in the same. As are the fan bases.

I can see how you came to that conclusion. Teams for some odd reason just disappear

I do not know the outcome of Chris Jans's game. I'm assuming he lost that is why you are making comedy out of it? If he did lose I suspect his team wasn't enjoying a protected seed...

I have already commented on the theory of WSU's promotion of assistant coaches as a cause of this year's debacle. I originally discounted it as WSU did very well in 2014-2015 when Jans was at Bowling Green making them soar like eagles in his first year. But Jans AND Heiar both being gone may have taken a toll.

I still stand by my statements that Gregg Marshall is the author of Jans and Heiar's careers teaching them most of what they know. But there are a lot worse things than having a set of Gregg Marshall clones on your coaching staff. Their absence is no doubt felt. Steve Forbes was a good one too!

How big of an impact the coaching staff had on Wichita State's success (or lack thereof) this year will be evident if there is any turnover. If Gregg doesn't fire a single one of them then the reason for the Shocker disaster this year will likely be exactly what Marshall said it was - several players on the team regressing as the season went on.

I don't think you'll get much sympathy from most AAC fans given you've had way more success recently than any of them except UConn to some extent. Even Cincinnati hasn't done as much as Wichita this decade. 7 years ago, you had been to exactly one NCAA Tournament in 20 years. So what you had a first round exit, it happens. Just hope it's not the start of a trend.

It’s ok. Spring football is almost here. I look forward to spending quality time in the kiddie pool with a beer and some babes.

I think the Wichita fan base have gotten as they are is due to being a big fish in a crappy little pond but now they find themselves not the fish they thought they were.

And b/c of that I now have my concerns... Another AAC middle of the pack and to make matters worse they're a basketball only member

Donnie Jones was hired to bring the Lunkers from the south. That is his only purpose. If he fails at that purpose this off-season, his services are no longer necessary. I actually think the guy from Sunrise Christian Academy might be the dead weight. He could have done his job (funneling SCA recruits to Wichita) just fine back in his previous position (head coach at SCA). I don't know why he needs to take a spot on Wichita's staff. If it's money he needs we can take care of that by hiring him as a consultant or something.

Gregg Marshall needs to be surrounded by fully engaged assistants for strategy support during crucial in-game moments. Both Donnie and Kyle would be paper weights during these periods.

Wichita State fans have gotten to "where they are" by choking on an inordinate amount of post-season success and media love. There is NOTHING that happened in the Valley that served to bolster our confidence and pride. We are a National Power as stated by the national media. To do that out of the "lowly Valley" is enough fuel in itself to power a thousand C0|db|00deds...

In the back of everyones mind, we all knew that WSU would probably have an adjustment period to the new league and a problem with the "grind" of being in it. But the good news is that now the first year is over and the coaches and players know whats coming and will be used to it.

They will be fine. They know whats coming now.

And now its baseball/softball season for the Shockers.

Let's see. Same old CB.

First line is an excuse. You had the entire team back from a 4 loss season with a NCAAT win, and a close loss to Kentucky. Plus the coach who has a far better record, especially in the postseason, than any other in your history.

Then the second line is a full on, angry jab at all your conference mates.

And the third paragraph completes the trifecta with 3 lines of whining.

This is spot on. He comes off like a real POS with the backhanded compliments and digs. It drove me away from this board. I want to like my conference mates at the end of the day.

Drove more than a few people away.

Wasn’t the trolls from other conferences it was the trolls from this one. He makes this place unbearable when he is not licking his wounds.

Early offseason couldn’t happen to a better board poster. Pride cometh before the fall.
