Too Soon '19 Predictions
Never too early to begin speculation. Right? What's the top half of the conference look like next year? Here's how I'm gonna go right now. This is regular season. Who knows what happens with the crap shoot of a conf tournament.

1. ODU
2. Marshall
3. wkcc
4. UTSA
5. UAB
6. La Tech

3. MT
4. UTSA

7. LT

Marshall and WKU will be near the top. I'm unsure about everyone else.

I wish CUSA would limit the CUSA Tournament to the top 8. I know anything can happen and anyone can win IE USM over Middle this year. But since CUSA inception only one seed lower than 5 has won the CUSA championship. The 2011 Houston Cougars at the 7 seed. This would also make winning conference games mean something, Right now you usually just have to find a way to win 4 maybe 5 games to make the tournament.

I personally don't like them at all but don't disagree with your point of view.

Cutoff line for .500 this year was top six.

MT will not be above .500 next year in conference play. We won't make this list.

RE: Too Soon '19 Predictions
In a one bid league I hate to say get rid of the tournament because UAB has benefited from it (14-15) and they've been hurt by it (15-16). I think the best option is limiting it to the top 8 and letting the higher seeds host. I know that causes logistical problems but other leagues manage it.

I look for Elmore and maybe even Penava declare for the NBA draft. But I also think it will to get information from the scouts on what both of them need to work on. I fully expect both to be in the starting line up at Marshall next season.

??? Way too negative for ODU. UAB loses Lee and Cokley. MT loses Giddy, King and Kermit. WKU graduates a ton (I'm sure Stans can reload but they won't have Johnson as their leader. Huge shoes to replace there). Marshall will be good, especially if Elmore returns. I expect Burks to tear it up in his senior year.

I think Randy and Brandan are pretty huge holes to fill. The list I have makes the assumption that we don't get another addition. The fanbase seems to think we are a lock for a grad transfer who can contribute, and if that's the case then I'll move us up. In the meantime, with the current roster and how little experience our freshmen have, and how shallow we are in the backcourt, I don't see us much higher than .500. As of right now it's a 3 man team with Caver, BJ, and Porter, and I hope all of them become more consistent than they were last year.

Frontcourt? I think we're looking pretty set with guards. We can always go four small + Porter. I think we'll be in play again next year at the top of the league. But third or fourth in the league again won't be received well.

Marshall at top
WKU,UTSA,ODU following behind

ODU will have 3 potential all Conference USA players next year; Stith, Porter, and Caver. We just need to be like Marshall and ride that to win the conference. :)

Southern Miss has everyone back, with the exception of a back-up walk-on point guard, who was probably the #7 or 8 guy on the roster this season. The team should be deeper and more experienced next season.

Since one of D'Antoni's specialties is player development. If you are old enough to remember Mike's PHO teams, Dan is the one that help develop Leandro Barbosa, Joe Johnson and Shawn Marion. I expect Darius George to take a leap in his game and Jannson Williams to maybe take even a bigger step.

RE: Too Soon '19 Predictions
Marshall will be scary good next season. 2 more bigs in the rotation, one of which is highly touted and huge size.

If Elmore is back, i think Marshalk runs away with the conference, with ODU right behind us, and a crap shoot for everyone else.

Our big weaknesses this season were depth, and rebounding. Neither of those will be a weakness next season. Imagine our team that was winning games being -7+ on the boards, now being +5 or so, and no drop off to subs.

RE: Too Soon '19 Predictions
I think we will go 7-5 ooc as Senter will provide Terry with an easy schedule. Will go .500 in conference. 1-1 in the CUSA tournament. 17-15 and will end up making a mini run in the CBI/CIT.

I don’t know about the rest of the conference. Focused on improving our suffering first.
