The search at Middle Tennessee is heating up. The three names that I’m hearing the most are Xavier associate head coach Travis Steele (will wait to see what Mack does first), UMBC’s Ryan Odom (obviously a hot commodity), and UNC Asheville head coach Nick McDevitt.

There are at least two other names, but I'm getting the vibe that we've had little traction with either one of them. You can probably figure out who they are.

I am just a guy on the internet so what do I know--but I would pass on Mcdevitt.Only experience is at Asheville in the weak Big South.Odom has achieved more and Steele is solid.Might even hold out a little longer because you never know what (or who) might become available a week from now.AIM HIGH.Very high.

I would stay away from McDevitt. If you want to see how this coached turned a victory into a defeat. Watch the end of the NIT game with USC

Bill Walton who was calling the game on tv was screaming "you have to foul USC and you win the game"

Ashville had a 3 point lead with 7 seconds left does not foul and lets USC shoot the 3 point shot to tie the game with time running out in regulation

USC wins in Double overtime
