I quite like the W&M merged with the tougher looking griffin. The W&M by itself will take some warming up for me.

Agree. I would much rather see the combo logo on the football helmets than the W&M by itself. Looks like the goal is to make W&M be THE brand. A little blase on the helmet and caps by itself, but if it accomplishes the goal, then great. Time will tell.

That combo logo should never used by anyone on anything ever. The new W&M only looks palatable in comparison because the new griffin is such an unmitigated disaster.

May have made my last donation for a while. This is disappointing.

Honestly, I like the griffin a lot.

My two cents through 6 thoughts that no one asked for:

1) The white jersey with the yellow stroke and green fill looks great. I also love the pullover Nate is wearing with the all white logo on a black shirt.
2) The logo Nate has on, there's something weird with the colors. The yellow fill just seems off.
3) I'm a Griffin homer...But I dont know how I feel about the aggressive griffin.
4) Logo redesigns will never please everyone. This is quite an undertaking.
5) The "Full" logo combines WM + Tribe + Griffin...Which has been missing. That said, I much prefer the stand alone WM logo to the combined.
6) It really reads like the script Tribe is going away and that makes me sad.

At the end of the day, I would like to think 99% of us aren't cheering/following/donating to the school because of logos. Really interested to see these on the courts, fields, and jerseys this fall.

Agree, that if the script Tribe goes away, I will be very, very sad. It's the only clothing gear I buy, except for the bball team fund raising shirts.

Wanted to emphasize this.

As we're seeing in this thread, with a fairly small population of die-hards we have:

1. I hate it all
2. I love it all
3. I love the Griffin, not the logo
4. I love the logo, not the Griffin


So, yeah.

You are correct. I also will continue to cheer and follow my school with a homer-like passion. But, I do speak with my money. Where I buy things and who I give it to. I am not saying for certain that I will not donate, I have merely said that I MAY have made my last donation.

When a conversation in an elevator in Chapel Hill, NC between a random, unaffiliated person and our AD leads to a redesign (and what I assume is an expensive marketing/consulting cost), I feel it justified to re-evaluate my donation.
