The source familiar with Moffa's testimony told Fox News that his statements raise concerns that the bureau indeed used this practice with the dossier, referencing an article written by Yahoo! News’ Michael Isikoff.

The Isikoff article was published on Sept. 23, 2016, focusing on Page’s July 2016 trip to Moscow. According to a House GOP memo earlier this year, the Isikoff article did “not corroborate the Steele dossier” as the article was “derived from information leaked by Steele himself to Yahoo News.” Yet the subsequent FISA application to spy on Page cited the Isikoff article, among other pieces of evidence.

“The [Carter] Page FISA application incorrectly assesses that Steele did not properly provide information to Yahoo News,” the memo read. “Steele has admitted in British court filings that he met with Yahoo News—and several other outlets—in September 2016 at the direction of Fusion GPS.”


Not a good look for the FBI, regardless of where you stand on politics.

Let's be careful about the "fake dossier" terminology. That opens you up to questions like, "What's fake about it?"

What it actually is, correctly described, is an unverified and/or uncorroborated dossier. Nobody that I have seen has asserted that every single detail has been independently verified or corroborated, and my general impression, from comments by Adam Schiff on down, is that signifiant portions of it have not been independently verified or corroborated (Schiff on CNN, "some of it has been corroborated").

The interesting thing is that, for purposes of introduction as evidence in a FISA proceeding, "fake" is the same as "unverified" or "uncorroborated." Exactly the same. Legally, neither of them is admissible in such a proceeding. Does that make anything produced pursuant to any warrant issued in such a proceeding "fruit of the poisoned tree"? Yep, pretty much.

So calling it "unverified" or "uncorroborated" has precisely the same legal effect, at least for FISA warrant purposes, as calling it "fake." Only difference is, "fake" puts the burden of proof on you, "unverified" or "uncorroborated" puts the burden on them. And there is nothing to indicate they can meet that burden.

It's becoming so obvious. This story continues to build, while fake Russian collusion continues to fall apart.

Kronke, I've said it before. Most every week something new is revealed and without exception, every new detail is damaging to the DOJ and FBI but the MSM and leftists in general act as though there's nothing there.

Yea,

all true and likely the more civilized path.

But “uncorroborated” or “unverified” doesn’t get the desired raising of the hackles or nearly the same level of belly laughs as

Fake dossier.

Right up there with “fake news”. Is it spin news? Yes. Fake? No it exists. In all its embarrassment.

Dossier of falsehoods and fairy tales just doesn’t roll off the tongue as well.

It was an organized and coordinated attempt by some high level government employees in positions of power to use their power and put their thumb on the scales of an election outcome.

Then, when that failed, they continued with the coordination to try and topple a duly elected President while simultaneously hiding their corruption and illegal activities.
