i think our lack of depth in the frontcourt hurt us at the end of the weekend. I wonder whats happening with cam smith. I was really hopeful for him.

His character was based on Andrey Semenov. So he's the Semenov of fictional characters.

You know, we do have a beat writer who's job it is to cover this stuff...

I think the bigs just got a little tired and outworked yesterday. This could be partly early season, partly youth, partly conditioning, partly depth related. JMU needs more production from their bigs to win- they have gotten that in some games which has helped offset some of the poor play from the wing. Lewis looked better the last few games- more like himself. The shooting was better the first 2 games of the tourney- 3rd game in 3 days I think it's a little hard to judge but the effort to get back and get the game to OT (similar to The Citadel) was commendable. Obviously JMU shouldn't be down to Citadel and Oral Roberts to have to come back but they'll keep making gradual incremental improvements.

After a few days rest we need a good game by the team on Thursday. Play sound early, get the lead, and never relinquish it.

Coppin State is about as close as you can get to a lock win.
They are winless and the closest they have come to winning is a 19 point loss to a bad Navy team.
JMU will look like superstars Thursday night

This team has had a tendency the last two years to play to the level of their competition.

I didn't see the last two games (no one did), but my guess is that the short bench cost them in the third of three games. Guys were probably gassed and outworked as a result. That's why you play more guys in these sorts of tournaments, and Rowe chose not to. A very disappointing loss in any event, and the third loss in four games.

The Coppin State game is followed by a game at ODU, where we'll we be the decided underdog.
