Btw, with UConn not mentioned as one of the five I have to think they are getting ready to change the patches on their jersey in Hartford/Storrs.
Who cares what you got before? That matters nothing today. Right now UCF is the biggest football draw. We won't sign away our GOR unless there was a real special deal for us considering we are the probably the number #1 target for expansion.
Ok Boise, seeya.

RE: AAC Grant of Rights in the offing?
All teams should sign it for the guaranteed more money (assuming it would at least increase the deal by a minimum of 3 mil per team per year). If a big conference comes calling them that team or conference they are joining will have to pay.

No. I do not want to handcuff any aspiring program.

Cincy need to leave, become an indy in all sports and create The bearcat Channel.
If we do, we are looking at ~$30mil per year in tv revenue.

Sorry, but you aren't special. No one in this conference is special. That's been proven time and time again. There are no Texas or Oklahomas here.
I'm strongly against any deal where certain members are treated differently than others, even if it's UC. That kind of greedy attitude will only cause division and cause significant inequality inside the conference. That's short term thinking that will only lead to failure as a conference.

RE: AAC Grant of Rights in the offing?
There are 64 teams in P5 conferences and of course ND has to be considered. If their and ESPNs plan to separate from the rest of FBS and the NCAA comes to fruition why would they consider adding more schools? My Florida friends, despite recent successes, they don’t need you, as they proved in the last B12 expansion debacle. They already have three FL schools. They don’t need anyone from Texas or Tennessee or Ohio and they certainly don’t need anyone from PA. Yes, they hyped the AAC Championship game to get viewers and sell stuff but at the same time undercut our conference. (ESPN being both promoter and journalist is another topic)
Basically, as a friend, I don’t want y’all to get hurt again. None of y’all are going anywhere.

I can't see UC going for this.
I mean, we've waited this long... and the other conferences GOR's suddenly aren't as long as they were six years ago. You KNOW once those GOR's expire the backstabbing will commence once again.

I was being really conservative as this is a touchy subject with a lot of folks around here.

Some UCF fans are a bit delusional The winning will not last forever. Someone else in the conference will starting winning and lead the pack. It’s good for all to support the other schools.
Remember ECU was the first G5 team ranked in first College Playoff poll. We certainly have had a fall from grace but it does not take much for that to happen especially at the level of football we all play.

I was ready to dismiss the topic, but after reading through the posts, something is clearly churning under the surface.

I think it's pretty clear that the AAC will merge with the remnants of the Big 12 after Texas & Oklahoma leave for more money. But it won't be a full merge. You think a discussion about a GoR gets testy, wait til you see the backstabbing and vitirol that will come when it's decided who stays and who goes in that one.
