Not sure if many here have followed this story as it isn’t getting much national press. Five members of Louisville 2013 championship team filed a lawsuit against the NCAA seeking to have the national championship banner restored.

What makes this lawsuit significant is it marks the first time that the NCAA has been ordered into mediation. As expected this week it was announced that mediation failed. The Louisville players have requested a jury trial.

Keep in mind that UofL is not involved in the lawsuit. The players believe the NCAA punishment was too severe for those not involved in the alleged activities. Lawyers on the Louisville board said it was a good sign for the players that the judge sent the case to mediation instead of simply dismissing. Makes it more likely the NCAA will be forced to go to trial.

Surprised this hasn’t got national attention as it could change how NCAA simply picks and chooses who gets punished and who doesn’t.

Add this to Missouri's response to the NCAA sanctions against them, and I have some hope that change is in the air.
