RE: CAA Transfers
The problem with giving an extra scholarship is that at the time you know they graduated and leave you are well past recruiting period to account for that extra scholarship. Not saying you can't find a diamond in the rough in the late period, but its hard to account for something that you don't yet have. I am in favor of teams paying a penalty for academics if they are not being met (APR, kids not graduating etc)

RE: CAA Transfers
As a fan I do not like transfers coming in. I prefer cheering for players who came in as freshmen. Would not want a coach that relies on transfers to win

RE: CAA Transfers
In the last 13 seasons, 4 transfers to the CAA led in points per game, and 2 transfers combined to win 3 POYs, including Towson's Jerrelle Benimon back-to-back. In 2013-2014, Benimon won POY and Hofstra's Zeke Upshaw led in points per game. If you include transfers out of the CAA, Drexel's Damion Lee led in points per game in 2014-2015. In the five seasons from 2011-2012 (the season after Jenkins) through 2015-2016, Hofstra had Upshaw and Mike Moore lead in points per game, and Juan'ya Green won POY.
The CAA has a Record Book with the leaders in seven statistics in each season. They have points per game, rebounds per game, assists per game, steals per game, field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage, and free throw percentage. Only twice in the last 16 seasons had all seven of those categories led by players who started in the CAA.

RE: CAA Transfers
I wonder if the CAA has ever four transfers to teams in top conferences before. The three other than UGA made the NCAA Tournament and won at least 1 game. Both with what he's done already and where he's going, Pierce is the most likely to make the NCAA. Damion Lee wasn't drafted after a season at Louisville, but made the NBA later and has 47 games with an average of 6.8 points.

RE: CAA Transfers
This is the first year of the portal, so it is by no surprise to see the most transfer up this season, as the path to going up was made much simpler with the portal. Instead of having to find suitors, the suitors can now easily find you. Lee also did not get to go to the postseason as Louisville took a post season ban after he arrived for the stripper scandal. Unfortunate for Lee. Honestly, Gresham appears to be the only one of the above with much chance at truly be impactful.

After averaging 13.2 points per game as a freshman, Ithiel Horton is transferring.

RE: CAA Transfers
Hofstra announced that Rhode Island transfer Omar Silverio, a 6-4 sophomore guard has been granted a waiver by the NCAA and can play immediately. He should be a contender for the starting guard position vacated by NBA Second Round draft choice Justin Wright Foreman.
