NCAA paying for player's parents to travel to the tournament games.

NCAA paying for player's parents to travel to the tournament games.
It is being talked about a lot these days. If they do it for the men then they would have to do it for the women. Which would lead to the question of why just for basketball and not for all sports that make the NCAA tournament. Right now it is done for players on teams that make the college football playoff, so I think they need to do it for the final four in all sports.

That's kinda lame. Why should the NCAA pay for my (or any parents') travel to "tournament games"? Playing in these tournaments (and bowl games) is a privilege. This is just another example of baby sitting college athletes. It's also a big recruiting advantage for the BIG school's that do it, because they will be playing in the most tournaments and bowl games, etc.... ("Come to Duke kid, and you and your family will be traveling all over the country at the NCAA's expense 3 or 4 times a year.")

I'm real big on independence. My libertarian side says people should pay their own way to stuff like this. If you can't afford to go, then you should stay home and try to make enough money until you can.
