Please, let's not Tubberville the BB program with a Slick Rick or Matta.

Big no to Thad Matta (seems he's been targeted and passed due to health on already by a number of schools) and a bigger no to Rick Stansbury (14 years at Miss St. and 5 NCAA tournaments to show for it, never made the sweet 16).

Brannen would be my top choice, but I'd be happy with Wes Miller or Matt McMahon - biggest concern with them is they are more likely to jump ship a few years down the line. Brannen would be an easy way to bring some fans in from NKU.

I’d definitely kick the tires with Matta. He’s just a fit for this region and he has name recognition. I’m intrigued by Brannen but not sure I’d make him a priority.

Please no on the Murray State guy. He needs to prove he can have success without his fluke superstar.

I agree. He was a great coach prior to his health issues and is still young enough where he's going to be hungry. I do doubt though that his health has improved that much.

I'd definitely talk to Brannen but I'm not sure he's done enough to earn such a big gig yet.

Go get Pitino. Absolutely not with Thad Matta....if I ever have to hear another press conference with Matta doing nothing but saying...'umm'.....'ahh'...it will be too soon.

And Winthrop was the absolute class of the Big South under Marshall.

Yeah hard pass there. He makes no sense.

Do we think Brennan would be able to recruit top level talent? I think he would be a good fit but my one question is whether he can bring in top recruits.

There really aren't any great options out there in UC's price range, will be interesting to see what happens. I think there will be a pretty big fall for this program over the next 5 years.

Absolutely no to Pitino (I've followed UC basketball for the majority of my life, hiring Pitino would at least make me contemplate no longer doing so). Kelsey's record at Winthrop isn't all that impressive. One NCAA tournament in 7 years and on a downhill trend the last couple of years. Compare that to Brannen or McMahon who have made more NCAA tournaments in fewer years.

McMahon would be the most interesting non-Brannen choice. He's got a good record and is about to have a 2-star sophomore be a lottery pick. That would probably help him convince developmental recruits to come here.
