Not yet. Ladner said he doesn't even know what he's being paid yet.
I looked up his salary at Southeastern and here's what I found from Nov 16, 2016 which would've been in the middle of his time there as he was at SE La from 2014-15 season through the 2018-19 season:
- a base annual salary of $100,575
............and 2 of the add-ons that jump out:
- $250 for conference coach of the year (not a typo, two hundred fifty)
- $2,000 for NCAA post season or conference season championship
and termination clause:
- if coach leaves after 1st year he owes $100,575
- 2nd year he owes $80,000
- 3rd year he owes $60,000
He did sign a contract extension before last season that extended his contract through the 2020-21 season. All assumptions here as I couldn't find anything newer but assuming he didn't renegotiate a higher buyout/salary after he won the regular season championship after the 2017-18 season then USM owes SE La around $60k-$100k for his buyout. Considering his base there was $100k for the 2016 contract (we were paying Doc a base of $350k) I wonder if we got him for the same amount or did USM get a hometown discount that could be used towards assistant salaries and/or budget upgrades?
