He was the beat writer for MT athletics for years with the Daily News Joirnal.

He also had a previous stint in the athletic department as well, after his job as beat writer, and before the time at Cannon County high school. Over the years, especially under this AD, there have been various issues with the hiring process within the athletic department. Maybe they thought a background check was not necessary, that would be somewhat understandable. I would hate to think they knew and hired him a second time anyway.

Yikes! Oh My God! A young Athletic Department employee smokes marygeewana! Now that is a shock. I'm sure the Tennessean will publish this on the front page showing what a den of iniguity the Middle Tennessee Campus has now become. Wish it had been Massaro, instead.

Using weed doesn't bother me. The write up acts like he was distributing as well (although that may just be based on the quantity he had). Selling it is a bigger deal. I am more concerned about MTSU hiring him after his termination from inappropriate conduct. Not a great look, but not the worst thing ever either.

In Tennessee, possession of marijuana (a Misdemeanor) gets bumped to Possession For Resale (a Felony) based solely on weight/quantity. The Drug Paraphenalia Charge just gives the prosecutors a little more leverage. I actually wonder more about the Cannon County High School incident and Stinnett having been previously fired.

He had $100 worth of weed. The problem is he had them individually wrapped. The struggle must be real.
