SMU fans know that much better days for us are around the corner. Bennett has the pieces at qb, running back and oline taking shape and our defense has been serviceable all along. Not to disparage our friends from Tulsa, but SMU dominated them for years until this past season only and now they are viewed as the rising program. Our breakout year is not far behind. Maybe not this year, but its coming for sure.

Agreed BB - I still think we're truly a year away from showcasing our newly recurited talent on the field, just in time for the start of C-USA in 2005. Remember, Phillips only started a handful of games as a true freshmen and most of his positive plays were via his athletic runs. If we're to be successful we'll have to implement the downfield passing game, which we all know didn't exist last year. I think the new OC is working on ramping that phase up as we speak w/ the 3 & 4 wide sets we're bringing to the offense. I just hope our starting QB has 3 to 4 seconds to get the ball in the air.

Totally agree.

Thats another reason why Im so excited to be hopefully playing Texas A&M in 05 also. Can you imagine what it would do for us to beat Baylor and A&M?! Not to mention beating TCU also!!! dear lord *dances for '05* 04-rock 04-bow

Mustang35SMU - I'm going to go get you some oxygen before you hyperventilate!!! 03-wink

Trouble is, we always get jacked up as fans in march/april/may/june/july/august . . just to be let down after the start of the season. At least that's what I've learned about being an SMU fan for more than a decade!

Gosh I wish it would change!!! :bang:

I'll be happy when we get our first win of this next season, although it might be october. It would still be an infinite improvement over last season.
