RE: Opening Week AAC Basketball Games (11/5 - 11/10)
No clue how much to take from this but in the ECU game notes a very interesting possible starting lineup listed.
Tristen Newton
JJ Miles
Brandon Suggs
Jayden Gardner
Ludgy Debaut
Very interesting that Suggs would be starting over Baruti considering all the talk about him looking like the best player on the court a lot of the preseason. There's been some talk that Baruti is banged up as well, so that could be the issue.

Eh. Anything ECU gives the league is bonus. Kenpom has them 70% to win tonight. If ECU is significantly better this year they need to win their first two going away. I'm not convinced and won't worry for the league if they lose tonight, but hopefully there will be a solid win that is a sign of things to come.

By any measure, ECU should be significantly better this year.
We are down a few guys tonight, but should still win going away.

disagree ..in football only your top matters, your bottom 2 can be horrific it doesnt matter perspective wise.. in basketball everything is computer based, and overall top to bottom strength matters, and the bottom matters most for that because the bottom can really fall ogg
computers use averages, and if your top is 16 or 26...itll have little impact compared to your bottom being 170 vs 289
also i can almost guarantee ecu beats vmi, using kenpom on ecu right now makes no sense, kenpom doesnt account for juco and thus will have zero methods of analyzing ecu...
smu vs jacksonville state is the upset watch...they won 24 games last year, they lost quiet some players but got some touted transfers (most noteably a former 4star from xavier)
smu at full strength likely comfortably wins , but still waiting on both waivers, and backup center not eligible till december

I'm not saying it wouldn't be better if ECU was significantly better than last year. My point is I am not counting on it and don't see that as a definite win.

Nice to hear coach Pesik say that kenpom for ECU is completely worthless. Not that it's worthless in general, but on a roster with 11 new players it just flat out can't predict anything about ECU until games are played.

vmi is a 300rpi team projected dead last in the SoCon...dooley feels they are drastically better...
i can almost guarantee they win..wouldnt be surprised if it isn't even close

I guess we'll see. I think they'll win as VMI should be objectively worse, but I'm not going to believe ECU is significantly improved until I actually see it. The level they have been for years tells me no win is a guarantee.
