Boise is the only MW team other than Air Force at 25, that seems odd.

These rankings based on Class size and rating. A better barometer is rating per recruit, which I bet would be full of AAC teams.

Memphis, SMU, Houston, and USF would definitely move up significantly based on average player rating.

Still plenty of time left for the rest of the AAC teams to climb up the ranks, I expect a lot more AAC movement before signing day.

RE: Final AAC & G5 Recruiting Rankings
Let's not kid ourselves, in some instances all it takes is a large recruiting class to be ranked decently at 247 for the other group recruiting services that factor in the size of the recruiting class when doing the rankings.

I don’t really follow recruiting but I hope we have as good of a class as it sounds like.

Memphis, SMU, Houston, and USF would definitely move up significantly based on average player rating.

Also some schools (like my Mustangs) are likely to bolster their recruiting with transfers in the Spring.

That's only because USC has 11 recruits. See the point being made by myself and others.

Which, using recruit ratings, means Cincinnati and Memphis had the best recruiting classes. 04-cheers

I think they are easily the best.

Temple has never really had high classes regardless of the recruiting site, but often over achieves on the field. My guess is wherever Temples primary recruits come from are underrated or they are able to retain most of their class for 3-4 years.

The AAC is head and shoulders above the rest of the G5. You are correct average recruit score is important, as are grad transfers, as are % of recruits with P5 offers, maybe even P3 offers (I see the ACC & Pac as our peers). There is no single metric that tells the whole story. However, getting a few 4 stars doesn’t work on filling out an entire class for G5’s. . . Having a few recruits with a high average is great- But if your class is 14 players annually you can field a team and dilution to field spots comes in. An interesting stat is your average recruit rating over 3-4 years - see below.

Top G5 football recruiting classes, last 3 years combined (2018-20) per
@247Sports

1. Cincinnati (524.96)
2. Boise St. (512.72)
3. UCF (509.48)
4. Memphis (484.93)
5. USF (483.20)
6. Tulane (478.71)
7. Toledo (476.31)
8. LA Tech (474.45)
9. ECU (468.17)
10. Western Mich (464.42)

I root for the conference, but love when the conference gets excited for the turn around SMU and Tulane have put in place. Not bad for a Tulane team who only got their **** together 4 years ago after a 20 years (or maybe a century) of losing due to administrative incompetence.

With the number of NFL players we have, we’re obviously doing something right, so I’m not going to get too worried when they barely watch anyone in the Northeast play.
