If TCU leaves and CUSA decides to bring in another school, (La. Tech, Temple, UTEP, North Texas, etc.) what school do you think will actually get the nod?
I would like to see what HERD fans think. I've seen this debate covered a million times on various boards and I thought it would be interesting to see how MU 's fans/students/alumni feel about this situation.
Basically, I've went to the aforementioned schools' websites to check out the university, location, stadium, etc. I wasn't overly impressed by what I saw, however, there were some strong/weak spots (in my opinion.)
La. Tech -- This school is in the south and I like that. Seems to fit within the conference and its new look. Wasn't impressed with the campus or stadium. I thought I read the football team has some occasional wins over big schools.
Temple -- Same info you always hear. Good basketball, bad football, Philly market, etc. Doesn't fit in with the southern conference vibe.
UTEP -- Terrible football team. Long way from home. However, the school is located in Texas (south), and new coach Mike Price might be able to turn the team around. If they joined, I wonder if Marshall's presence in the Southwest could result in some interesting OOC games(Arizona, Arizona State, New Mexico, etc.)
North Texas -- Decent football team. Again, is a school in Texas (southern conference) and could possibly elevate their playing in a better conference. Still perceived as "small" though.
Maybe another school not yet mentioned might get the nod. Any suggestions/preferences?
