There was a really nice article on Kragthorpe in the Atl. Journal-Constitution yesterday. I didn't realize he had done such an incredible job turning the Tulsa program around. From 2-22 the last two years to 8-4 this year. There were even rumors that Tulsa was thinking about dropping to I-AA if things didn't turn around.

What do you guys think -- is this just a flash in the pan, or do you think Tulsa will keep the winning ways going next year?

There are some good players returning including quarterback James Kilian and many others. Coach K is in the process of signing what looks to be a very good recruiting class. Look for more progress 04-cheers

Coach Kragthorpe has the knowledge, talent, experience, and tradition to get the job done. Tulsa got lucky. I hope he stays a while.

What they said, plus the 1AA rumour was just that. Journalists like to make this stuff up because it sells a story. Tulsa has had some really bad years, but I as an alumnus would have rather stuck white hot pokers in my eyes than see us go to 1AA. I would have never supported athletics again had that been the case.

About the only person mentioning dropping to D1AA was a former Tulsa President that is now a professor at Tulsa. He's not the President anymore because he was worthless and he DISLIKED sports completely. During his tenure football started to go down the tubes but it is alive and in very good shape with Coach K!! 04-bow He has an outstanding recruiting class coming in including top 50 players in the country. We figure Coach K will be around for three, if were lucky four years, and then we will have to find another future coaching star like we've done for so many years in basketball!! 04-cheers With Tulsa's football history, the alumni would never allow a drop to D1AA. Tulsa has more NFL Hall of Fame members than the University of Oklahoma. Tulsa made modern football what we see today in the 1960's and had two Heisman Trophy runner ups. Jery Rhome broke over 20 NCAA records in one year but lost out to a Notre Dame QB of a 3-7 team!

And Garrett Mills is returning next year instead of going on his mission.

Seriously? That's big for us but why would he do that? How sure are you?

It was in the Tulsa World so it must be true. He said it was not because of football.
