Great info---Thanks!!!! All I can track are Texas recruits and so far we are doing GREAT. I like both the height and weight of this years recruits so far. 04-bow I like to see Interior offensive and defensive lineman coming in at 250 lbs or bigger. In the past we had a number coming in at 230 or close to it, which normally means they are going to end up at 260 in a couple of years and that's not big enough to compete with the big time schools. If coach K keeps this up we may have several really good years!!! 04-cheers

Thanks for the info- looks like the class is starting to shape up. I assume we are still in on plenty of d and o line man since we are losing so many.

Answer: A large group of recruits came in this last weekend!! We must have a fair number of freshman and red shirt freshman offensive lineman because I don't see a lot of them on the recruit list. I would have no problem seeing at least 3-4 offensive lineman every year. It's not unusual for them to get hurt and only a few turn out to be really good!!

We get 2 more years of Uril Parish. Hopefully he will be 100% next year. I don't know the status of Larry Lane. He has already used a redshirt year and probably forfeited his freshman year this year, since he failed achedemically. Lane also seemed to be a tough little runner similar the Uril's style. Hopefully we have him the next 3 years. Also, Brandon Diles was held back from being a star this year. He showed very good promise.
We have good depth in the skilled positions. I hope we can replace Garrett Mills' spot, while he is gone for the next 2 years. Seems the recruiting so far is addressing this by getting 2 TE commits, Brandon Jones and Ted Curtis.

IIRC, Mills is Mormon and will be doing his mission the next 2 years. So the TE committs are important.

Blankenship absolutely plays a pivital role in our 2 tight end sets. Our stellar Red Zone success was mainly due to the tighter formations. It did play out this year that Mills was probably the more sure handed and clutch and perhaps the better runner after the catch. But I would bet that most of our good runs went to the side of Blankenship.

Blankenship seemed more like the prototype tight end, good blocker, good hands but not that much on speed or moves. Mills was more of a combo tight end/WR with a little more speed and better moves. It wouldn't surprise me to see Mills come back in two years more of the prototype tight end because I think he will add several pounds, at least a minumum of 20-30 lbs, and could end up a pro prospect at tight end!!
