I take it confidence in JP is not high.

I don't like our chances, but I like JP. A road game against a tough team with a young team. I hope they prove me wrong.

I agree with Pike 100%, I never expect a loss. Quite the contrary, I think we should be able to play with anyone in the country!!! I will say some losses don't surprise me as much as others though. Boise St. and SJSU last year surprised me a lot more than a loss to Wichita St would. I would feel better about this game on a neutral court but it will be a good test---maybe too good!! :eek:

I expect to play well. But if we lose to Wichita, I won't be surprised, because they're picked to win the Valley this year. Solid team in their brand new building.

BTW, I love this early season schedule. Lots of tough road games. That's exactly what this team needs to help toughen them up for conference play. When we go into Fresno or Rice or Hawaii, we'll be ready.

I don't know much about WSU this year, but if they are expected to win the MVC, it should be a great game if we show up. I have a feeling our team is getting some fight back in them - there is nothing worse than being handed a tradition you love and knowing you're involved in a time frame that is bringing it down. That is the thing with tradition - you love it and nurture it, and you do your best to pass it on to those after you better than you received it. I think our guys got the message. Sounds like practice is getting tougher - sounds like defense is being emphasized.

I hope we win - I expect to win - but again I'm doing my best to be patient this year.

B&G, that was a very good response. Very well stated, do you want to be known as the ones that screw up the basketball tradition. Heavy burden for a young group or should I say inexperienced group, but I think they will be up to it as the season goes on!!!
